Software Engineer – AWS, Java, Python & Kubernetes

Amtex Systems Inc is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build scalable, cloud-native data platforms. The role focuses on AWS-based applications and data platforms, microservices, data pipelines, lakehouse solutions, and deployment and operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable cloud-native applications and data platforms using AWS services, including S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and EventBridge
• Build REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven applications
• Develop high-performance data pipelines using Apache Spark and PySpark
• Design and optimize data lakes, data warehouses, and Delta Lake/lakehouse solutions
• Develop backend services using Java and Python, with frontend development using Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Containerize and deploy applications using Kubernetes
• Implement messaging and streaming solutions using Kafka, SNS, and SQS
• Optimize system performance, scalability, security, reliability, and cloud costs
• Manage infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, testing, monitoring, and deployments
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, product, and business teams throughout the software development lifecycle

Skills

• 5–8 years of software engineering experience building scalable applications and distributed systems
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Java, Python, Kubernetes, and microservices
• Experience developing REST APIs and event-driven architectures
• Proficiency in Apache Spark/PySpark and large-scale data processing
• Experience with data lakes, data warehousing, Delta Lake, or modern lakehouse architectures
• Strong knowledge of Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Experience with Kafka, SNS/SQS, and SQL/NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with Terraform or Ansible, CI/CD, Git, and automated testing
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, functional programming, and software engineering best practices
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
