ownership of financial reporting, accounting operations, tax compliance, treasury and financial controls across our growing North American business.\nThis is a key leadership position within Finance, responsible for ensuring our financial records are accurate, compliant and available to support timely business decisions.\nA major focus of this role will be transforming our traditional month-end close into a more automated, continuous close process, improving financial visibility and reducing manual work.\nReporting to the Director of Finance & Strategy, you will work closely with the Billing & Revenue Operations Manager and other teams to strengthen financial processes, support our US expansion and build a scalable finance function.\nWe're looking for someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, challenges existing processes and takes full ownership of results.\nKey Responsibilities\nFinancial Reporting & Continuous Close\nOwn the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.\n\nLead the transition toward a continuous close model through automated daily reconciliations and weekly soft closes.\n\nPrepare and review financial statements, general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.\n\nProvide weekly financial updates and variance reporting for leadership and EOS Level 10 meetings.\n\nReconcile billing activity to the general ledger monthly, partnering with Billing & Revenue Operations.\n\nIdentify reporting discrepancies and implement improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.\n\nWork toward reducing month-end close timelines to fewer than five business days.\n\nTax, Compliance & Audit\nOversee HST, payroll, corporate income tax and other applicable statutory reporting requirements.\n\nEnsure all tax filings, remittances and compliance deadlines are met accurately and on time.\n\nCoordinate year-end financial reporting, external accountants and audit requirements.\n\nMaintain accurate documentation supporting tax filings, grant claims and financial compliance.\n\nIdentify potential financial and regulatory risks and ensure appropriate controls are in place.\n\nSupport compliance requirements across Canadian and US operations.\n\nUS Entity Structure & Cross-Border Finance\nLead the financial and accounting components of AMZ Prep's US entity setup.\n\nCoordinate with external tax, legal and accounting advisers to establish an appropriate cross-border structure.\n\nDevelop and maintain intercompany accounting processes and supporting documentation.\n\nSupport transfer pricing, cross-border tax planning and financial reporting requirements.\n\nEnsure the US entity setup is completed according to established timelines and business objectives.\n\nAccounts Payable, Treasury & Cash Management\nOversee accounts payable, vendor payments, bank reconciliations and treasury operations.\n\nManage financial processes and reconciliations across platforms including Ramp, BMO and Venn.\n\nMonitor cash balances, foreign exchange activity and intercompany transactions.\n\nEnsure accurate financial actuals are provided to support the rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve payment controls, cash visibility and operational efficiency.\n\nFinancial Controls, Automation & Process Improvement\nDesign, implement and maintain strong internal financial controls embedded into daily workflows.\n\nIdentify manual processes that can be automated to improve accuracy, efficiency and scalability.\n\nIncrease the percentage of financial reconciliations completed automatically.\n\nDevelop clear accounting procedures, approval processes and financial reporting standards.\n\nEstablish and maintain a centralized repository of corporate, tax, compliance and financial records.\n\nPartner with the Director of Finance & Strategy on financial projects, process improvements and business initiatives.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nSignificant experience in financial accounting, controllership or a senior accounting role.\n\nProfessional accounting designation (CPA) preferred.\n\nStrong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, financial reporting, reconciliations and internal controls.\n\nExperience managing month-end and year-end close processes.\n\nSolid understanding of Canadian corporate tax, HST, payroll compliance and audit requirements.\n\nExperience with treasury operations, cash management and financial reporting.\n\nStrong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including financial analysis and reporting.\n\nExperience with accounting software, ERP systems and financial automation tools.\n\nAbility to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet critical deadlines.\n\nStrong analytical skills, attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.\n\nComfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business where processes are continually being improved.\n\nStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience with US entities, cross-border accounting, intercompany transactions and transfer pricing.\n\nExperience in logistics, fulfillment, transportation, warehousing or a 3PL environment.\n\nExperience implementing continuous close processes or automating financial reconciliations.\n\nFamiliarity with Ramp, BMO, Venn or similar financial platforms.\n\nExperience working in an EOS-driven organization.\n\nExperience supporting growing, multi-entity businesses.\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\nWe believe in clear accountability, measurable results and continuous improvement.\nMonth-End Close: Achieve a financial close within 10 business days by Q1 2027, progressing to fewer than 5 business days by the end of 2027.\n\nAutomation: Continuously increase the percentage of reconciliations completed automatically.\n\nReporting Accuracy: Reduce variances between weekly flash reporting and final monthly profit and loss statements.\n\nTax Compliance: Ensure 100% of HST, payroll and tax filings are completed on time, with zero penalties.\n\nUS Expansion: Complete the US entity setup according to plan, with a documented tax and intercompany structure.\n\nBilling Accuracy: Ensure billing is fully reconciled to the general ledger each
