ANA is growing and scaling, and we are seeking a versatile Powertrain Integration Engineer to join our team in an onsite position in Henderson, Nevada.\nIn this role, you will sometimes find yourself stepping away from the desk screen and focusing heavily on the physical application, validation, and optimization of diesel engine technology within our power generation equipment. You will specialize in hands-on testing, thermodynamic analysis, and mechanical integration of diesel engines into our systems. This role requires a strong floor presence, working directly with engine components and testing lab equipment to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, ensure emissions compliance, and optimize engine performance under varying operational loads. The Powertrain Integration Engineer will also have access to ANA’s Mechanical Design team to help implement engine-related design ideas, improvements, and concepts they want to pursue within ANA’s products.\nThe position is fully onsite, and the work schedule is weekdays from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. This role reports to Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.\nRole & Responsibilities:\nEngine Integration & Validation:\nSpecialize in the mechanical integration, structural mounting, and performance validation of diesel and variable-speed engines used within ANA’s power generators and hybrid energy systems.\nSupport calibration, load-response evaluation, and operational optimization across fixed-speed and variable-speed applications.\nTorsional Vibration Analysis (TVA):\nExperience supporting torsional vibration analysis of engine-driven powertrain systems, including interpreting analysis results, evaluating drivetrain component compatibility, and coordinating corrective actions to mitigate resonance and durability risks.\nPerformance Testing & Diagnostics:\nWork extensively on the manufacturing floor and in testing environments to evaluate engines under extreme operational conditions.\nUtilize advanced mechanical diagnostic tools to resolve complex engine, thermodynamic, and vibrational challenges.\nSystem Assembly & Hands-On Prototyping:\nPhysically assemble, wire, tear down, and modify prototype engine units and test fixtures.\nTake a hands-on approach to modifying equipment and evaluating functional performance to ensure machinery meets strict quality and power output standards.\nDesign for Manufacturability (DFM):\nEvaluate engine integrations for manufacturability, partnering closely with design and process engineers to identify strategic areas for physical structural improvement, waste reduction, and production floor cost efficiency.\nDocumentation & Technical Writing:\nGenerate and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), testing validation logs, and assembly work instructions.\nCross-Functional Collaboration:\nPartner with design engineers, manufacturing teams, and product managers to communicate testing outcomes, define clear product specifications, and guide mechanical integration updates.\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus. Must have a strong academic or practical background in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and internal combustion engine mechanics.\nExperience: 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, hands-on product validation, performance testing, internal combustion engine, or a similar development role.\nIndustry Domain: Experience working in testing or engineering capacities within industries such as power generation, heavy machinery, compressors, battery storage, or engines, including fixed-speed and variable-speed engine applications.\nManufacturing Knowledge: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and quality control principles.\n Technical Tools & Diagnostics: Advanced proficiency with engine diagnostic tools, data acquisition systems, and performance testing equipment such as flow meters and load banks. (Note: Basic familiarity with CAD software to interpret drawings is helpful, but advanced modeling is not the primary focus of this role).\nVariable-Speed Engine Certification: Ability and willingness to support testing, documentation, and regulatory certification efforts for variable-speed engine platforms, including emissions, performance, and application-specific compliance requirements.\nDocumentation & Systems: Strong technical writing skills and high attention to detail for engineering documentation. Proficiency in utilizing engineering and enterprise software platforms, including Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Business Central ERP.\n Innovation & Tools: Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot) to assist with technical problem-solving, data analysis, and workflow automation.\nProfessional Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and strong project management capabilities, aligning with our core value of Root Cause Problem Solving.
