The ideal candidate will define how advanced algorithmic capabilities are structured, modularized, and deployed within embedded and production environments-bridging the gap between algorithm development and full application software.\nThe candidate will act as a technical leader across algorithm, embedded software, and system teams, ensuring that solutions are not only analytically sound but also scalable, maintainable, andproduction-ready.\nKey Responsibilities\nArchitecture Ownership\nDefine and own the end-to-end algorithm and software architecture for battery insights solutions.\n\nEstablish modular, scalable architecture patterns that enable efficient development, integration, and reuse.\n\nDefine interfaces, data flows, and component boundaries across algorithm, embedded SW, and systemlayers.\n\nAlgorithm Leadership\nDrive the development of advanced battery algorithms combining signal processing, AI/ML, modeling, and electrochemistry.\n\nArchitect algorithm frameworks and abstractions that support robust deployment across use cases and platforms.\n\nEnsure algorithm designs are aligned with system-level constraints and product requirements.\n\nSystem & Embedded Integration\nTranslate algorithm concepts into production-ready software designs suitable for embedded and real-time systems.\n\nWork closely with embedded SW teams to integrate algorithms into BMS and system-level software stacks.\n\nDrive tradeoffs across accuracy, performance, computational cost, and memory footprint.\n\nCross-Functional Technical Leadership\nLead architectural alignment across algorithm, embedded software, systems, and hardware teams.\n\nDefine and communicate technical direction, architecture decisions, and integration strategies.\n\nCollaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to align architecture with product and application needs.\n\nExecution & Delivery\nGuide projects from concept through architecture definition, prototyping, validation, and deployment.\n\nIdentify risks and drive mitigation strategies at the architecture level.\n\nContribute to the development of frameworks, tools, and best practices for algorithm deployment.\n\nMentorship & Influence\nMentor engineers in both algorithm development and system-level design thinking.\n\nInfluence engineering excellence in architecture, modularity, and production-readiness.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nPhD or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent deep expertise).\n\n12+ years of industry experience, including:\n\nSignificant experience in algorithm development, and\n\nProven experience in software or system architecture for complex products.\n\nDemonstrated ability to define and own architecture for deployed systems, not just develop algorithms.\n\nStrong background in multiple of the following:\n\nAlgorithm development\n\nMachine learning / AI\n\nSignal processing and estimation\n\nMathematical modeling and simulation\n\nControl systems\n\nExperience translating algorithms into production or embedded software environments.\n\nStrong understanding of:\n\nSoftware architecture principles (modularity, interfaces, system design)\n\nEmbedded and real-time system constraints\n\nProficiency in tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and Python (NumPy, SciPy,PyTorch, etc.).\n\nProven ability to operate across cross-functional teams and complex system boundaries.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nHands-on experience with battery algorithms (SOC, SOH, diagnostics, or advanced battery insights).\n\nExperience with Battery Management Systems (BMS) architecture and integration.\n\nBackground in electrochemical system modeling.\n\nExperience defining software architectures in automotive or embedded systems environments.\n\nFamiliarity with automotive processes such as AUTOSAR and ASPICE.\n\nTrack record of leading multi-disciplinary architecture across algorithm and embedded software teams.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nArchitecture + depth: someone who can define system architecture while still understanding algorithm fundamentals.\n\nProduct mindset: focused on delivering solutions that are deployable, maintainable, and scalable.\n\nCross-domain leadership: able to bridge algorithm, embedded SW, and system teams.\n\nOwnership and clarity: comfortable taking responsibility for technical direction and architectural decisions.\n\nStrong communication: able to translate complex concepts across technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nLocation\nLimerick, Dublin, Cork\nBack-up Location:Munich, Germany\nFor positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
