Learn more at www.analog.com and on LinkedIn and X.\nSenior Engineer, Embedded Software\nAbout the Role\nAs a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in the Battery Insights team, you will lead the design and delivery of embedded software for advanced battery monitoring and insight solutions. You will work across firmware, hardware, systems, verification, and application teams to turn product and customer requirements into reliable, maintainable software. The role requires strong technical judgment, independent problem solving, and the ability to guide other engineers while contributing to architecture and roadmap decisions.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, implement, integrate, and maintain complex embedded software solutions for battery monitoring and insight products. \nLead the technical delivery of significant features and contribute to software architecture and design decisions. \nDevelop and optimize real-time software, device drivers, hardware abstraction layers, and platform services. \nAnalyze and improve software performance, reliability, memory use, power consumption, and startup behavior. \nInvestigate complex system issues using structured debugging, root-cause analysis, and data-driven methods. \nCollaborate with hardware, systems, algorithms, verification, applications, security, and product teams. \nTranslate product and customer requirements into clear software requirements, designs, implementation plans, and testable outcomes. \nReview designs and code, mentor less-experienced engineers, and promote strong engineering practices. \nContribute to automated build, test, release, and continuous-integration workflows. \nSupport technical planning, estimation, risk identification, and roadmap development for Battery Insights software. \nRequired Qualifications and Skills\nBachelors or Masters Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline. \n0-4 years of relevant embedded software or firmware development experience. \nStrong C and C++ programming skills, including debugging and optimization in resource-constrained systems. \nExperience with real-time operating systems, concurrency, interrupts, synchronization, and timing-sensitive design. \nExperience developing low-level software or device drivers for common embedded interfaces and peripherals. \nExperience with embedded processors or microcontrollers, including board bring-up and hardware/software integration. \nProficiency with source control, code review, automated builds, and CI/CD practices. \nAbility to work independently on complex technical problems and communicate decisions clearly across disciplines. \nUnderstanding of software quality, maintainability, testing, and lifecycle practices. \nAwareness of open-source, proprietary, and hybrid software licensing models. \nPreferred Qualifications and Experience\nEmbedded Linux or Linux kernel development experience. \nExperience with ARM-based platforms and low-level debugging tools. \nExperience with telemetry, diagnostics, data acquisition, communications, or cloud-connected edge devices. \nBattery management, energy storage, automotive, industrial, or data-center domain experience. \nExperience with Python or other scripting languages for test automation and engineering workflows. \nKnowledge of cybersecurity, functional safety, or regulated software-development practices. \nExperience working in globally distributed, cross-functional engineering teams. \nDemonstrated technical leadership through design ownership, mentoring, or delivery of major features. \nWhat Success Looks Like\nDelivers robust embedded software that meets agreed performance, quality, and schedule expectations. \nMakes sound technical trade-offs and communicates risks and decisions early. \nImproves team capability through reviews, mentoring, automation, and reusable engineering practices. \nBuilds effective working relationships across software, hardware, systems, and product teams. \nWhy You’ll Love Working at ADI\nAt Analog Devices, you will be part of a collaborative and innovative team shaping technologies that bridge the physical and digital worlds.
