This role combines deep expertise in analog and mixed-signal IC layout with a passion for engineering productivity, automation, and IP reuse.\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering complex block and subsystem layouts while also driving continuous improvement of layout methodologies, automation frameworks, and reusable IP infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate closely with circuit designers, layout engineers, EE teams, and technology experts to enable high-quality silicon solutions across multiple business units and process technologies.\nThis position is ideally suited to an engineer who is equally comfortable solving challenging physical design problems and developing automation solutions that improve engineering efficiency at scale.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Layout Leadership\nLead development of complex analog and mixed-signal layouts from floorplanning through tapeout.\nOwn layout execution for critical IP, subsystems, and test-chip developments.\nDrive high-quality layout implementation for:Data converters (ADCs/DACs)\nPower management circuits (LDOs, references, regulators)\nAmplifiers and signal chain circuits\nPLLs and clock-generation circuits\nHigh-voltage and mixed-voltage designs\n\nEnsure designs meet performance, matching, reliability, ESD, latch-up, and manufacturability requirements.\nDrive successful DRC, LVS, ERC, EMIR and parasitic extraction closure.\nDesign Automation & Productivity\nDevelop and deploy automation solutions that improve layout productivity and design quality.\nIdentify repetitive engineering tasks and implement scalable solutions.\nSupport advanced methodologies including:Automated layout generation\nLayout verification automation\nIP qualification workflows\nReusable analog building blocks\nAI-assisted design and productivity initiatives\n\nPartner with CAD and EDA teams to improve design flows and tool integration.\nIP Development & Reuse\nContribute to the development of reusable Platform IP across multiple technology nodes.\nSupport IP migration, qualification, and reuse activities.\nPromote best practices for containerized IP, version control, and design traceability.\nAssist in defining scalable methodologies that enable reuse across business units and geographical teams.\nTechnical Leadership & Mentorship\nProvide technical guidance to layout engineers across the organization.\nPerform layout reviews and design audits.\nMentor junior and mid-level layout engineers.\nContribute to engineering standards, training material, and best-practice documentation.\nAct as a recognized subject matter expert in one or more technical domains.\nRequired Qualifications\nBS, MS, or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.\n8+ years of analog or mixed-signal IC layout experience.\nProven experience delivering silicon in advanced and mature process technologies.\nExpert knowledge of:Cadence Virtuoso\nLayout XL / VXL methodologies\nCalibre DRC, LVS, ERC and extraction flows\n\nDeep understanding of:Device matching\nParasitic effects\nShielding and isolation techniques\nReliability and ESD considerations\nPower distribution and substrate management\n\nScripting and automation experience using one or more of:SKILL\nPython\nShell/Bash\nTcl\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience developing engineering automation deployed to multiple users.\nExperience with analog layout generators and parameterized cell development.\nFamiliarity with AI-assisted engineering workflows.\nExperience supporting IP libraries shared across multiple design groups.\nKnowledge of multiple foundries and process nodes.\nExperience working with distributed global engineering teams.\nPrevious technical leadership or project-lead responsibility.\nSuccess Profile\nA successful candidate will:\nConsistently deliver high-quality layouts on complex projects.\nImprove engineering productivity through automation and workflow enhancement.\nInfluence layout methodology across projects and teams.\nChampion IP reuse and standardization.\nMentor engineers and raise the technical capability of the organization.\nAct as a recognized technical leader while remaining hands-on with design execution.\nFor positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
