As part of a high-performing team, the selected candidate will be part of a software research and development team focusing on mobile device forensic analysis including mobile device reverse engineering. The successful candidate will have a broad but strong skillset with numerous programming languages and experience collaborating with other developers. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and integrating software features as a member of a geographically dispersed team, either independently or with limited supervision. They will apply robust software engineering and database practices to address complex technical challenges, ensuring the delivery of reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions. The strongest of software developers will thrive and take advantage of the opportunity to learn and further develop their advanced skillsets. The candidate will also be required to interface directly with data architects and software developers to ensure that the data model is able to capture the use cases that the software systems are responsible for.\nThis position is currently hybrid (mostly remote, with up to two days per week on-site with our customer in Lorton, VA. Remote status is subject to change at the customer’s direction, but is expected to continue. There will also be several workshops throughout the year where engineers will collaborate on site for one to two weeks.\nThis position requires an active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI accesses with a CI polygraph.\nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor’s Degree required, with a preference in the areas of Computer Science, Electrical\nEngineering, Computer Engineer, or related discipline.\nMinimum of six years of experience as a Software Developer.\nProficient with Python, C, C++ and other programming languages.\nMobile app development or systems experience. iOS preferred\nExpertise in source control management with Git.\nDeep understanding of relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SQLite.\nMobile application decompiling.\nComfortable viewing, analyzing, and understanding raw binary data.\nExcellent skills with developer documentation.\nExcellent skills with collaborative coding and ability to adopt shared coding practices.\nExcellent skills developing quality code using best practices such as unit testing.\nExperience collaborating closely in Agile development teams for the development of software tools, including the ability to manage workloads through issue tracking software.\nExperience using industry standard RE tools (IDA Pro, Ghidra, JEB, Hopper) to determine the function of closed-source software.\nExperience with project leadership to include managing project tasks ensuring timelines are met.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nRust, JavaScript, and other programming language.\nKnowledge of common mobile architectures and their associated instructions, including x86 and ARM.\nOS Level expertise in Linux (or similar).\nExperience with GNU Debugger (GDB).\nExperience identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities, such as memory corruption through stack overflows, heap overflows, integer overflows, and logical flaws.\nExperience with application hooking as a software technique to modify normal execution of an application at runtime to observe or redirect how an app behaves without changing the original source code.\nSoftware release management experience.\nExperience with Atlassian suite and software project management.\nComputer Network Operations (CNO)
