Test Engineer

Description of Task to be Performed:

AnaVation is seeking a Test Engineer to join our growing Huntsville, Alabama work program. The selected candidate provides lead automated testing and quality assurance activities across a major federal modernization and data migration program. This role ensures system reliability, data integrity, and functional performance by developing automated test frameworks, validating cloud-based services, and supporting continuous integration and deployment in secure environments. The Senior QA Automation Engineer partners closely with development, cloud, migration, and DevSecOps teams to deliver high quality, mission critical capabilities.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for UI, APIs, microservices, and data workflows.
• Integrate functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate data migrations, system integrations, and application functionality across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Identify, document, and coordinate resolution of defects with development and technical teams.
• Support release and deployment readiness through automated validation and verification testing.
• Collaborate with developers, cloud, migration, QA, and product teams throughout Agile planning and delivery.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, technical reviews, and release readiness activities.
• Maintain test plans, automation scripts, defect logs, test results, and regression coverage documentation in accordance with program requirements.

This position requires active Top Secret (TS) clearance and the ability to obtain SCI accesses with a CI polygraph.

This position is on-site with our customer in Huntsville, Alabama, and cannot be supported remotely.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in software testing, QA automation, or test engineering
• Extensive experience using automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Robot, Postman, or similar
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of API testing, microservice validation, and automated regression coverage
• Ability to validate large scale data migration outputs and troubleshoot data related defects
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
• Must be able to work full-time on-site at our customer location in Huntsville, Alabama.
• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and the ability to obtain a CI polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting national security programs
• Experience testing cloud-based applications or data workflows (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust, Gatling)
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell
