The selected candidate provides lead automated testing and quality assurance activities across a major federal modernization and data migration program. This role ensures system reliability, data integrity, and functional performance by developing automated test frameworks, validating cloud-based services, and supporting continuous integration and deployment in secure environments. The Senior QA Automation Engineer partners closely with development, cloud, migration, and DevSecOps teams to deliver high quality, mission critical capabilities.\nSpecific duties and responsibilities include:\nDesign, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for UI, APIs, microservices, and data workflows.\nIntegrate functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing into CI/CD pipelines.\nValidate data migrations, system integrations, and application functionality across cloud and on-prem environments.\nIdentify, document, and coordinate resolution of defects with development and technical teams.\nSupport release and deployment readiness through automated validation and verification testing.\nCollaborate with developers, cloud, migration, QA, and product teams throughout Agile planning and delivery.\nParticipate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, technical reviews, and release readiness activities.\nMaintain test plans, automation scripts, defect logs, test results, and regression coverage documentation in accordance with program requirements.\nThis position requires active Top Secret (TS) clearance and the ability to obtain SCI accesses with a CI polygraph.\nThis position is on-site with our customer in Huntsville, Alabama, and cannot be supported remotely.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in software testing, QA automation, or test engineering\nExtensive experience using automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Robot, Postman, or similar\nExperience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines\nStrong understanding of API testing, microservice validation, and automated regression coverage\nAbility to validate large scale data migration outputs and troubleshoot data related defects\nStrong analytical, communication, and documentation skills\nMust be able to work full-time on-site at our customer location in Huntsville, Alabama.\n Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and the ability to obtain a CI polygraph.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience supporting national security programs\nExperience testing cloud-based applications or data workflows (AWS preferred)\nFamiliarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust, Gatling)\nScripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell","description_format":"text","description_chars":2852,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":8,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":true,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Cybersecurity","Government","Military"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-25T22:10:58Z"}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":52,"reasons":["conf:0","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-09-26T04:03:52Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/anavation-test-engineer-3","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/anavation-test-engineer-3.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-26T04:03:52Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":4409,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":591,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-09-27T00:00:00Z"}}}
