The Supervisor is expected to model and reinforce the organization's core values in all interactions by fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, collaboration, respect, continuous improvement, and client commitment.\nJob Responsibilities:\nLead, coach, and develop a team of Bond Specialists by providing direction, mentorship, training, and ongoing feedback.\nEstablish clear performance expectations, monitor results, and hold team members accountable for achieving operational, compliance, quality, and service objectives.\nManage team workloads and resources to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing of bonds, POAs, and related documentation.\nMaintain a thorough understanding of customs regulations, bond requirements, importer identity verification standards, POA requirements, and other applicable regulatory obligations.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls to support accurate, consistent, and compliant department operations.\nReview and approve POA intake documentation, powers of attorney, and supporting documentation, coordinating second-level reviews when necessary.\nReview and approve enhanced due diligence documentation for nonresident importers of record, including verification of signer authority through corporate certificates and other supporting evidence.\nOversee business legitimacy reviews, importer identity verification activities, and restricted party screening processes to ensure compliance with CBP requirements and company standards.\nConduct regular audits and quality reviews of bonds, POAs, importer verification activities, and recordkeeping practices to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.\nMonitor departmental productivity, quality, and service metrics and take proactive action to improve performance and operational effectiveness.\nServe as an escalation point for clients requiring additional support, guidance, or issue resolution, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and responsiveness.\nManage relationships with surety providers and external partners, serving as the primary liaison for bond-related matters, issue resolution, and process improvements.\nCoordinate POA renewal activities to ensure timely compliance and uninterrupted client service.\nEducation and Experience:\nActive U.S. Customs Broker License required.\nBachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Customs Compliance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, bond administration, or a related regulatory environment.\nMinimum of 2 years of experience leading, supervising, or managing colleagues in a compliance-focused operational environment.\nStrong knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, powers of attorney, importer identity verification requirements, bond administration, and recordkeeping obligations.\nExperience interpreting and applying regulatory requirements while balancing operational and customer service needs.\nProficiency with customs brokerage systems, Microsoft Office applications, and document management platforms.\nExperience supervising bond, POA, compliance, or brokerage operations teams preferred.\nKnowledge of nonresident importer requirements and enhanced due diligence processes preferred.\nExperience working directly with surety companies and bond underwriting processes preferred.\nExperience leading audits, quality assurance reviews, process improvements, or compliance initiatives preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nProven ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop colleagues while building a high-performing and engaged team.\nStrong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships across all levels of the organization.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex compliance requirements.\nStrong analytical, auditing, and problem-solving capabilities with keen attention to detail.\nAbility to interpret regulations, assess risk, and make sound business decisions in a highly regulated environment.\nExceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\nStrong customer service orientation with experience handling escalated client concerns professionally and effectively.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive business and compliance matters.\nDemonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.\nThe salary range of compensation for this position will be $90,000-$125,000 based on experience and education.\n*To ensure competitive and equitable compensation, pay may vary based on the candidate’s regional market compensation rates.\nCompetencies:\nAll Deringer employees should be fully committed to the Core Values:\nPassion, Respect, Integrity, Expertise, Innovative Solutions, Relationships, Support, Determination, Value and a High Level of Accountability\nIn addition, the following competencies are specific to this position:\nAnalytical - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness;
