Principal AI Engineer

Andersen is hiring a Principal AI Engineer for a project developing AI-powered solutions to enhance automation, predictive capabilities, and operational efficiency.

The customer is a global technology company delivering enterprise digital platforms for automating complex operational, financial, and compliance workflows. Its solutions handle high data volumes, integrate with multiple external systems, and support mission-critical processes for international businesses, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and automation.

The project is focused on developing and integrating AI-powered capabilities into a maritime port call management platform. It aims to improve operational efficiency, predictive capabilities, process automation, and data-driven decision-making through scalable and innovative AI solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Converting manual processes to fully automated processes.
• Partially automating processes when full automation is not achievable.
• Helping improve efficiency for both the operations team and customers.
• Reducing the amount of manual (especially repetitive) work mainly for the operations team.
• Predicting answers to questions based on an existing historical knowledge base.
• Predicting costs based on historical knowledge.
• Chating bot style task automation.

Must-haves:

• Experience in AI/ML Engineer for 5+ years.
• Experience with LLMs and building AI agents using frameworks like LangChain,
• LangGraph, and LangSmith.
• Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented
• Generation), and LLM orchestration.
• Knowledge of AI agent design patterns: reasoning, planning, tool use, and memory
• Management.
• Proven experience designing, training, and deploying ML models in production
• Environments.
• Understanding of ML fundamentals and MLOps practices: model versioning,
• monitoring, CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in machine learning algorithms and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow,
• PyTorch).
• Strong coding skills in languages such as Python.
• Familiarity with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for deploying AI
• models.
• Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Ability to analyse and interpret complex datasets.
• Strong analytical thinking to identify and solve operational inefficiencies.
• Ability to design and implement AI-driven solutions.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to collaborate with other developers, data scientists, and business analysts.
• Level of English - from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Nice-to-haves:

• Good to have programming experience in Java.
• Strong skills in python application architecuture for production deployments, mono
• repos, uv, microservices, frameworks such as gunicorn & FastAPI.
• Strong skills in infrastructure as code specifically in Azure environment and BICEP.
• Automated production grade deployments of AI/LLM models.
• Production grade architecture of cloud based solution.
• Strong Datascience background.
