Andersen is hiring a QA Engineer for a project delivering scalable testing solutions and ensuring consistent quality and reliable releases for mobile gaming products.
The customer is an international game developer and publisher focused on creating engaging mobile gaming experiences for a global audience. Its teams bring together specialists in game development, design, art, marketing, analytics, and other disciplines, supporting the full lifecycle of its products. The company has developed successful mobile titles with large international player communities and continues to expand and improve its games through new content, technology, and data-driven development.
The project is focused on providing scalable QA services for a mobile game development studio to support its growing testing workload. It covers release regression testing, playtesting, map and level validation, feature acceptance, and re-testing through a flexible QA delivery model designed to ensure consistent product quality and reliable releases.
Responsibilities:
- Building and running test sessions directly from the Unity Editor: assemble builds, execute scenarios, capture logs and performance data.
- Verifying object placement against design references, checking lighting/rendering correctness, memory usage per object, prop behavior, and collisions/geometry gaps at the seams between map blocks.
- Verifying traversability of levels/maps - identifying non-traversable areas, geometric holes, and navigation issues.
- Running performance testing across the agreed device matrix: Avg FPS, 1% Low FPS, Memory Peak, CPU Load, Battery Drain.
- Producing performance dashboards and raw profiler logs for engineering to dig into anomalies.
- Supporting playtest sessions and feature acceptance where engine-level or map-specific expertise is required.
- Re-testing performance fixes and map fixes after they are addressed by the client's development team.
- Feeding back into briefing packs: documenting what to look for in map/level content so the pool can be onboarded on simpler, well-scoped map tasks over time.
Requirements:
- Experience as a QA Engineer in GameDev for 4+ years.
- Hands-on experience with the Unity Editor, including comfortable navigating scenes, hierarchy, GameObjects, Transforms, Layers/Tags and Prefabs to accurately reproduce and describe bugs.
- Experience with level/map testing specifically: object placement QA, collision/geometry verification, lighting checks - 2D or 3D.
- Comfortable working from design documentation/content specs and translating them into concrete test scenarios.
- Level of English - from Intermediate and above.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with mobile performance profiling: FPS, memory, CPU load, battery drain, and reading raw profiler output.
