Primary focus will be on monitoring, controlling, and improving existing manufacturing processes, and to ensure customer and business needs are met. The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker and has a passion for operational excellence.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nUtilize effective lean process design techniques to optimize overall manufacturing system performance by providing innovative solutions that integrate within the value stream\nPlan, organize, and lead technical aspects of large-scale assignments to successful conclusion\nCreate training tools, documents, and standard operating procedures for production processes ensuring consistent manufacturability\nProvide recommendations regarding the viability of developed design solutions that relate to new or current processes\nFacilitate cross-functional team meetings, kaizens, and Process System Design events\nDrive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem solving\nPartner with the Safety group to ensure all new or modified processes meet or exceed corporate safety requirements\nAccurately assess ergonomic conditions within the manufacturing environment and provide practical solutions to eliminate ergonomic risk\nExhibit persuasiveness to sell continuous improvement ideas to value stream management and delivery partners\nStay well-informed on industry technology developments and explore their use in Andersen products\nProvide operational technical support for existing applications and processes \nEnsure built in quality by using DMAIC tools: Process mapping, process capability, C&E Matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, Control Plans\n QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:\nBS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering experience\n2+ years of engineering experience preferred with mechanical aptitude\nUnderstands and applies methodologies associated with project planning and experience working with collaborative, cross functional teams\nStrong aptitude in problem solving using analytical tools and making process improvements\nCommunicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills\nKnowledge and experience with quality systems, statistical process control, process capability and lean manufacturing tools\nAbility to effectively apply acquired knowledge and skills to a variety of assignments within a moderate range of technical difficulty\nStrong experience in building and maintaining relationships\nExperience with change management strategies\nKnowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCad/Inventor )\n** This role is based in Cottage Grove, Minnesota and is in the plant 5 days per week.
