Continuous job-related education is encouraged to help you grow and excel in your career!\n2nd Shift: 4x10 - 2:30pm-1:00am (*with an 8% shift differential)\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nInspect gears and gear units for lubrication problems and bearing failure \nUnderstand types and function of gears, the components and characteristics of gearbox setups, problems with gears and gear boxes, and gearbox overhaul. \nUnderstand types of shaft misalignment, conditions affecting alignment, measurements and measuring tools for realignment, and methods used for shaft alignment including reverse dial, laser and rim and face \nUnderstand types of gaskets and packing, packing glands, and installation of gaskets and packing\nUnderstand basic functions of production CNC machining equipment \nUse necessary hand and power tools to take appropriate action to replace components, make adjustments and recalibrate machinery to resolve issues and restore equipment to operating condition \nCheck and adjust end play, backlash, shaft runout and tooth contact in gearboxes\nDisassemble and reassemble gearboxes \nUnderstand centrifugal and reciprocating compressors \nUnderstand the parts, function, maintenance and troubleshooting of typical motors \nRemove mechanical seals from pumps, examine damaged mechanical seals and install various types of mechanical seals. \nUnderstand types and functions, installation, lubrication, maintenance, causes of failure, and replacement of sliding surface and roller contact bearings\nOperate manual mill, lathe, and surface grinder to produce quality part.\nMaintain and troubleshoot, disassemble and reassemble hydraulic and pneumatic valves\nUnderstand parts, function, maintenance and overhaul of reciprocating and rotary positive displacement pumps, and single and multistage centrifugal pumps \nUnderstand pipe sizing and materials of construction, characteristics of pipe joints and fittings, and how to calculate pipe length, measure, cut and thread pipe \nMeasure and analyze vibration in equipment using transducers, vibration meters and vibration analyzers to determine cause of malfunction \nRead pneumatic system diagrams\nQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:\n2 year Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent past work experience\nDemonstrated technical expertise in maintenance functions\nStrong customer focus \nBasic PC skills (MS Windows) \nContinued technical training required each year\nBasic project management skills\n(Elec) Working towards a Class A Journeyman license if in the electrical program \nUnderstand the hazards of and working on electrical components\nUnderstand, troubleshoot and problem solve issues of basic complexity in advanced electrical/mechanical systems (PLC, Drives, Servo, HMI, CNC, etc.) \nTest and perform preventative maintenance\nUnderstand basic electrical circuits and safely requirements\nUnderstand basic function of PLC, drives and controls\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY:\nSome heavy lifting required to replace motors, pumps, extruder screws, etc., at low frequency. Equipment is provided to move / manipulate heavy components\nOccasionally lift /carry objects up to 100 pounds\nOccasionally squat, crawl, reach above shoulders, kneel and balance\nRequires repetitive action such as simple staring, grasping, firm grasping, and fine manipulating.
