Our team includes alumni from SpaceX, Anduril, ABL, Palantir and Qualia. We build full-stack-from physics to perception to product-with speed, elegance, and an unwavering commitment to the mission.\nWe believe the maritime domain will define the next century of economics, geopolitics, and global security. We're here to shape it.\nAbout this role\nAndrenam is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to join our electrical design team and work on the same kind of hardware our engineers build every day. This is a hands-on internship focused on troubleshooting and testing for the sensing and autonomy systems we deploy in the ocean. This is a summer 2027 internship, and we are also open to a spring 2027 start for the right candidate.\nYou won't be sitting on the sidelines. You'll take on real, scoped projects that support our core hardware, work directly alongside the engineers who design it, and get regular feedback and mentorship as you go. You'll get real experience designing electronics for performance, reliability, and manufacturability in harsh marine environments.\nWe're looking for students who are hungry to learn, love building things, and want to see their work end up in the ocean.\nWhat you’ll do\nTest and Troubleshooting:\nBring up, test, and debug boards and assemblies, including performance and reliability testing.\nDiagnose hardware failures and work with the team to identify root cause and verify fixes.\nSupport integration of hardware with software and take part in system-level troubleshooting.\nHelp develop and run test procedures that make our hardware more reliable in the field.\nHardware Support:\nSupport hardware projects tied to our core boards and systems, with guidance from the design team.\nRead and work from schematics and layouts to trace issues and suggest improvements.\nCollaboration and Growth:\nWork closely with our electrical engineers, taking feedback and iterating quickly.\nShare progress clearly and ask questions early.\nDocument test procedures, results, and fixes so the team can build on your work after your internship.\nLocation\nWork full-time onsite from our Torrance, CA office\nQualifications\nCurrently pursuing or recently completed a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.\nHands-on hardware experience through coursework, personal projects, or student engineering teams, with at least one project you can walk through in detail.\nComfortable with lab tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and soldering irons.\nExposure to PCB design, hardware troubleshooting, or CAD.\nStrong problem-solving instincts and a willingness to dig into unfamiliar problems.\nClear communication and a track record of working well with others.\nNice to have\nExperience designing simple circuits or PCBs in tools like KiCad or Altium, through personal, academic, or internship projects.\nFamiliarity with microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, ESP32) or communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN).\nExperience on a student engineering team such as underwater robotics, SAE, or similar design-build competitions.\nInterest in maritime systems, autonomy, or defense technology.\nWhy join us?\nAndrenam is an innovative, mission-driven company at the intersection of maritime autonomy and defense. We offer:\nCompetitive salary\nLunch and snacks provided in office\nAccess to a unique work environment, blending technology, maritime, and defense.\nSalary Range\n$30-$40/hour\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
