The developed applications will be a key component of Waters Advanced Diagnostics solutions, therefore, they must be robust and meet the needs of routine, and research, clinical laboratories.\nResponsibilities\nPrimary responsibilities include but are not limited to:\nDevelopment of new applications for use in clinical research and clinical diagnostics, centred around newborn screening and quantitative LC-MS/MS assays\nProduction of application notes and scientific posters for clinical research\nEvaluation of new hardware, software and consumables development \nSupport the transfer knowledge of applications, hardware, software and consumables to internal and external stakeholders \nAttend scientific conferences to present data and to gather knowledge\nTechnical presentations at internal and external meetings\nOther responsibilities include:\nSupport the transfer knowledge of applications, hardware, software and diagnostic kits to internal and external stakeholders\nAssist development of the prototype reagent kits with the proposed manufacturer\nAssist the applications laboratory in conducting customer demonstrations, as required\nGenerate regular written progress reports\nEnsure that regulatory, quality management system, Health & Safety and GLP standards are adhered to at all times\nQualifications\nEducation:\nQualified to degree level or higher in Biochemistry, Chemistry or related life-science\nExperience:\nExperience in the development and validation of analytical techniques using LC-MS/MSAdditional experience using mass-spectrometry based techniques related to the screening and/or diagnosis of inborn errors of metabolism, is considered advantageous\n\nAn understanding of user-needs and end-to-end workflow in the context of the newborn screening and/or biochemical genetics environment\nExperience in working to GLP and QMS\nCompetencies:\nCreative problem-solving skills \nExcellent organisational skills \nAbility to work towards specific goals and timescales \nExcellent communication skills, written and verbal\nTravel (If Applicable):\nExpected to travel globally for customer facing activities, conferences and training\nIn addition to salary, we work flexibly and provide 25 days holidays, excellent family friendly benefits such as attractive employer pension contribution, life assurance, income protection and private medical.
