The operator ensures that parts meet specific standards and specifications by carefully controlling the heating and cooling processes.\nWhat You Will Be Doing\nHere’s an overview of your responsibilities and how you can leverage your expertise:\nPerform all assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company safety protocols and procedures.\nSet up and operate various computer-controlled furnaces to heat treat steel to proper hardness.\nOperate heat treating furnaces, induction heating equipment, and other machinery according to specifications.\nMonitor equipment performance, adjusting settings and parameters to ensure proper operation.\nSet up and adjust machine controls according to established procedures and specifications.\nLoad and unload parts into and from furnaces or other equipment.\nProof test all programs, make corrections, perform shop floor programming as necessary, and document any changes.\nRun cleaning cycles on parts in washer when required.\nPerform in-process and final inspections as required.\nInspect parts before and after heat treatment to ensure they meet required specifications and standards.\nPerform hardness testing, microstructure analysis, and other quality control checks as required.\nUse various types of precision measuring instruments to ensure required hardness levels are achieved.\nDocument and maintain accurate records of heat treatment processes and results.\nActively participate in maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area in compliance with 5S standards at all times.\nPerform routine maintenance and cleaning of heat treating equipment to ensure optimal performance.\nMaintain all aspects of furnaces and equipment associated with processing within capabilities and scope.\nIdentify and report equipment malfunctions or required repairs to maintenance personnel.\nContinuously improve profitability through enhancing safety, quality, reducing manufacturing costs, reducing lead times, and working as a team member.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance heat treating processes and efficiency.\nMaintain open communication and suggest improvements to supervision, planning, programming, and co-workers.\nAssist with the training of new employees as required, sharing knowledge and best practices to support their development and the team’s success.\nStay updated with industry advancements and new technologies in heat treatment.\nAdhere to and actively promote the ANDRITZ 8 Life-Saving Rules in all work activities.\nConsistently embody and promote the #1ANDRITZway core values and behaviors, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.\nWhat We're Looking For\nWhen selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:\nEducation, Licenses, & Certifications:\nHigh school diploma required.\nExperience:\nMinimum of 2 years of related experience in a shop environment.\nExperience operating lift trucks, cranes, and other mobile equipment.\nExperience operating heat-treating furnaces and related equipment.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nDemonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.\nStrong attention to detail, with the ability to follow precise instructions and specifications.\nBasic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.\nLogical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.\nVersatile, flexible, and cooperative, with the ability to work effectively with staff and departments across the organization.\nStrong English communication skills, with the ability to identify and suggest process improvements.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team with little to no supervision.\nAbility to work all shift schedules.\nLegally authorized to work in the country of employment.\nPhysical Requirements:\nMobility: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a fabrication/shop environment; frequently bend, reach, crouch, climb, twist, and move around equipment, workstations, and production areas.\nManual Dexterity: Ability to use hands and fingers to operate controls, tools, measuring instruments, and computerized equipment; requires visual acuity to inspect parts, read specifications, monitor equipment, and identify defects or safety concerns, as well as sufficient hearing to communicate and respond to workplace alarms or signals.\nLifting/Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, parts, tools, and equipment up to 50 lbs.; use appropriate lifting techniques and material-handling equipment such as lift trucks, cranes, hoists, and carts when required.\n Environmental Factors: Work is performed in a fabrication/shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, fumes, moving machinery, heavy equipment, and varying temperatures;
