Responsibilities include programming machines, performing inspections, troubleshooting, and maintaining safety and quality standards. The role also involves operating material handling equipment, recording production data, and supporting process improvements in a clean and organized work environment.\nWhat You Will Be Doing\nHere’s an overview of your responsibilities and how you can leverage your expertise:\nPerforms all assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner, always adhering to safety protocols.\nEfficiently sets up and operates multi-axis NC lathes, NC milling machines, and NC grinders, ensuring all parts are produced to engineering drawings.\nReads and interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining processes, tool requirements, and sequence of operations.\nPrograms NC machines to create parts with precise tolerances and dimensions.\nPerforms in-process and final inspections using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other measuring devices to ensure parts meet specifications.\nTroubleshoots and adjusts NC machine settings, ensuring optimal performance and part quality.\nMaintains open communication with management and colleagues, suggesting methods for process improvements, machine programming adjustments, and tooling enhancements.\nKeeps accurate records, such as production data, inspection reports, and maintenance logs, and follows 5S principles to ensure a clean and organized work area.\nContinuously works toward improving productivity and profitability by enhancing safety, reducing lead times, improving part quality, and minimizing manufacturing costs.\nOperates overhead cranes, fork trucks, and other material handling equipment as required for loading and staging materials for machining processes.\nFlexibility to work in other operational areas as needed and perform additional tasks as assigned.\nExecutes layout operations as necessary to verify and measure parts in accordance with engineered drawings.\nAdhere to and actively promote the ANDRITZ 8 Life-Saving Rules in all work activities.\nConsistently embody and promote the #1ANDRITZway core values and behaviors, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.\nWhat We're Looking For\nWhen selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:\nEducation, Licenses, & Certifications:\nHigh School Diploma or Equivalent.\nExperience:\nPrior work experience in NC machine operation and/or industrial manufacturing.\nPrior working experience in manual machine operation.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nStrong interest in mechanical work and manufacturing processes.\nOther Valued Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities\nSuccessful completion of a post-secondary technical or vocational training program.\nPhysical Requirements:\nMobility: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods, up to 8-10 hours.\nManual Dexterity: Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating tools and precision instruments. Visual acuity for reading blueprints and using measuring equipment.\nLifting/Carrying: Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs independently.\nEnvironmental Factors: Work in a manufacturing shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, oil, machining debris, elevated temperatures, moving mechanical parts, cutting fluids, lubricants, and coolants.
