Lead Complex Industrial Projects from Engineering Through Execution

ANDRITZ Clean Air Technologies is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex industrial projects ranging from $500,000 to $50 million in value.

This role is ideal for a technically strong project leader with experience in manufacturing, capital equipment, automation, process industries, power generation, environmental systems, or EPC environments.

This is not a traditional project management role. Our Project Managers are expected to understand the engineering behind the solutions being delivered and engage directly with customers on technical, commercial, and project execution matters. Successful candidates can confidently participate in design reviews, discuss engineering concepts with customers, evaluate technical risks, and lead projects from concept through commissioning.

You will manage a portfolio of approximately 3 to 5 active projects simultaneously, leading projects from contract award through engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance.

What You'll Do

• Lead projects through the full lifecycle from kickoff through closeout.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and customer expectations.
• Serve as the primary customer contact throughout project execution.
• Establish and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacturing, vendors, subcontractors, and field resources.
• Facilitate engineering review meetings and technical discussions with customers.
• Monitor project financial performance and drive corrective actions when needed.
• Manage project risks, scope changes, claims, and commercial impacts.
• Communicate project status and key milestones to customers and internal leadership.
• Support installation, startup, commissioning, and final project turnover activities.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and according to contract requirements.

Project Scope & Portfolio

Project Managers typically manage 3 to 5 active projects simultaneously, with project values ranging from approximately $500K to $50M.

Projects may include:

• New industrial facility builds
• Equipment installations
• Plant expansions
• Facility upgrades and modernization efforts
• Retrofit projects
• Process improvements
• Environmental and emissions-control systems
• Capital equipment implementations
• Multi-disciplinary engineering and construction projects
• EPC and equipment supply projects

Successful candidates are comfortable balancing multiple projects at various stages of execution while managing customer relationships, budgets, schedules, technical requirements, and project risks.

Technical Leadership Expectations

Successful Project Managers at ANDRITZ do more than manage schedules.

• Understand project designs, engineering concepts, and technical requirements.
• Participate in engineering and design review discussions.
• Review drawings, specifications, equipment layouts, and technical documentation.
• Work closely with mechanical, process, electrical, controls, manufacturing, and field teams.

• Support resolution of technical challenges throughout project execution.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively with customers and project teams.
• Build credibility with customers through a solid understanding of the systems and equipment being delivered.
• Ask the right questions and challenge assumptions when potential risks or design concerns arise.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong project leader who can understand engineering designs, discuss technical solutions with customers, and successfully execute complex industrial projects from concept through commissioning.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in project management, project engineering, program management, capital project execution, or technical project leadership.
• Experience managing industrial, manufacturing, automation, capital equipment, process equipment, power generation, environmental, or EPC projects.
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, customer communications, and overall project execution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP Certification.
• Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Process, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering background.
• Experience managing projects valued between $500K and $50M+.
• Experience with new builds, upgrades, and retrofit projects.
• Installation, startup, commissioning, or field execution experience.
• Customer-facing project leadership experience.
• Contract management and change-order experience.
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings, technical specifications, and equipment documentation.
• Experience in air pollution control, environmental systems, process industries, or heavy industrial projects.
