This is a working manager role that combines direct responsibility for complex project purchases with leadership of the project procurement team. The manager will have overall responsibility for procurement execution across all assigned projects, from sourcing strategy through final delivery.\nClose collaboration with engineering, project management, quality, logistics, field service, and the broader North American Supply Chain organization is essential. The position is based in Charlotte, NC.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead project procurement across the hydro refurbishment and manufacturing portfolio, including procurement planning, sourcing strategies, priorities, workload allocation, and timely escalation of commercial and supplier issues.\nManage, coach, and develop the Project Procurement Specialists in Charlotte and provide functional direction to the purchasing and expediting resources supporting project procurement through the Shared Services Center in Mexico.\nPersonally manage selected complex or high-risk work packages, including supplier selection, commercial negotiations, contract execution, changes, claims, and final delivery.\nReview technical requirements, supplier proposals, manufacturing plans, and project schedules to ensure purchase orders and execution strategies support project requirements.\nMonitor supplier performance, manage quality controls and expediting activities based on project and supplier risk, and implement recovery plans when required.\nIdentify and mitigate commercial, technical, quality, capacity, and schedule risks across the project portfolio.\nServe as the primary procurement interface for assigned projects and work closely with engineering, project management, supplier quality, logistics, field service, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support project execution.\nDo you fit the profile?\nWe are looking for a hands-on procurement leader who can balance team leadership with direct project execution.
