We are looking for an engineer who enjoys building complete systems, not just individual components. This is an individual contributor leadership role-you will drive technical direction while staying hands-on in the build.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead hardware development across robotic subsystems.\nDesign, prototype, test, and iterate on new hardware solutions.\nWork across electrical, mechanical, and embedded systems.\nDrive hardware architecture decisions and technical tradeoffs.\nCollaborate closely with controls, software, robotics, and clinical teams.\nDebug complex system-level issues across multiple disciplines.\nSupport manufacturing, testing, and deployment efforts.\nHelp establish engineering processes, standards, and best practices.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nHardware Engineering\nStrong experience developing complex hardware systems.\nExperience working across multiple engineering disciplines, not just one.\nHands-on prototyping and debugging experience.\nFamiliarity with electronics, sensors, actuators, embedded systems, and system integration.\nExperience taking products from prototype through deployment.\nSystems Thinking\nAbility to understand and reason about complete system behavior.\nComfortable making engineering tradeoffs across hardware and software boundaries.\nStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.\nLeadership & Ownership\nAbility to independently drive projects forward as a hands-on individual contributor.\nComfortable operating in environments with incomplete information.\nExperience leading technical decisions and influencing engineering direction.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\nNice to Have\nRobotics experience.\nEmbedded systems experience.\nExperience with motors, actuators, and motion systems.\nExperience working in startups or small engineering teams.\nExperience taking products from prototype to production.\nMedical device experience, particularly in hands-on product development environments.\nExperience with design documentation, quality management systems (QMS), or regulated product development processes.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nSuccessful hardware engineers at Andromeda are builders first.
