As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.\nAnduril is seeking an experienced, hands-on Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to support our Australian Operations.\nAs the EHS Manager, you will work directly with operations, engineering, maintenance, project teams and leadership to maintain a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, manage risk and provide practical solutions that enable the business to operate safely and efficiently.\nAnduril operations present a diverse range of high-risk activities, including heavy manufacturing, lifting operations, offshore testing, electrical work, lithium-ion battery systems, machinery and general industrial activities.\nThe successful candidate will be equally comfortable on the factory floor, working autonomously, in a management meeting, reviewing technical documentation or leading an incident investigation.\nThis position reports to the EHS Senior Manager for Australia.\nWhat You’ll Do\nSafety Leadership & Culture\nOwn and lead the site’s EHS strategy, programs, standards and continuous-improvement initiatives\nServe as the primary EHS interface to site leadership and operational teams\nDevelop a strong, proactive safety culture where employees and contractors actively identify and control hazards\nConduct regular workplace inspections, safety observations, risk reviews and leadership safety engagements\nCoach leaders, supervisors and employees in effective risk management and safe work practices\nDevelop and deliver EHS training, inductions, toolbox talks and awareness programs\nHigh-Risk Operations\nProvide specialist EHS oversight and practical guidance for activities including:\nLifting operations\nElectrical work, electrical safety, isolation/LOTO\nLithium-ion batteries, including charging, storage, handling, and emergency response\nOffshore testing and field activities, including mobilization, travel, contractor management and emergency planning\nHeavy manufacturing equipment, machinery guarding, hazardous energy and maintenance activities\nHot work, working at heights and other high-risk work as applicable\nContractor and visitor safety management\nRisk Management & Compliance\nMaintain the site’s risk management framework and ensure critical risks have effective controls\nLead the development and review of risk assessments\nMonitor compliance with applicable Australian legislation, regulations, codes of practice and relevant standards\nMaintain the site’s EHS management system, documentation and records\nPrepare for and support internal, external and regulatory audits\nTrack corrective actions are closed effectively\nIncident Management\nLead investigations of incidents, injuries, near misses and environmental events\nIdentify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions\nManage incident reporting, notifications and follow-up in accordance with legal and company requirements\nAnalyse trends and use data to identify opportunities for risk reduction\nCoordinate emergency preparedness, drills and response arrangements\nEnvironmental & Occupational Health\nManage the site’s environmental compliance obligations and programs\nSupport waste management, hazardous substances, spill prevention and pollution-control initiatives\nMonitor occupational health risks such as noise, hazardous chemicals, dust, ergonomics and other workplace exposures\nCoordinate occupational hygiene assessments and health surveillance where required\nPromote employee wellbeing while maintaining a strong focus on prevention and risk control\nContractor & Project Support\nEstablish EHS requirements for contractors and verify contractor compliance\nReview equipment specifications, layouts and processes from an EHS perspective\nSupport management of change to ensure risks are identified before changes are implemented\nProvide EHS input into new technology, equipment and process introductions\nRequired Qualifications and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Safety/Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline\nProgressive EHS experience in engineering, manufacturing, maritime, defence, aerospace, or other complex technical/industrial environments\nExperience conducting hazard analyses or risk assessments integrated with engineering and program decision-making, not purely after-the-fact compliance work\nICAM Lead Investigator certification\nDemonstrated ability to influence multidisciplinary teams without direct authority\nStrong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills\nAbility to translate technical risk into actionable business and engineering recommendations\nNatural tendency towards challenging the status quo; leans into hard problems instead of walking away\nPreferred Qualifications and Experience\nDirect experience in maritime, shipbuilding, or naval engineering/operations environments (vessel construction, shipyard operations, marine systems)\nExperience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001\nAdvanced degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental/Occupational Health, Systems Engineering, or a related field\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
