The Systems & Tools team plays a pivotal role in optimizing hardware design and development through the implementation and management of advanced engineering software solutions. The team ensures that design engineering workflows are efficient, scalable, and integrated with the latest industry standards, empowering engineers to move faster and build better products.\nAbout the Job\nAs an Engineer on the Engineering Systems & Tools team, you will be involved in the internal development, deployment, and adoption of Anduril's CAD, PLM, and broader design engineering software ecosystem. The right person for this role has strong technical and analytical skills that can be applied and implemented in a real world environment to drive outcomes for the business and the engineers who depend on these tools every day.\nWhat You'll Do\nWork with hardware engineering and software leadership to develop and implement novel design engineering software strategies that enhance productivity, reduce cycle times, and improve design quality.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of the design engineering tools roadmap with overall business objectives.\nMonitor industry trends and best practices to keep our hardware design processes at the cutting edge.\nDrive adoption of CAD, PLM, PDM, and related engineering software solutions across the company, and own the feedback loop between the users and the developers.\nPartner with design engineers to understand workflow pain points and translate them into actionable improvements in tools, templates, and automation.\nDefine and enforce CAD/PLM standards, data governance, and best practices across hardware engineering teams.\nCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation of design engineering software standard instructions and best practices.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, User Experience Design, or related field.\n5+ years of experience in a hardware design engineering environment, including familiarity with CAD (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA), PLM, and PDM systems and how they interface with each other and with downstream operations.\nHigh sense of user empathy and the ability to manage and communicate with stakeholders.\nAbility to quickly understand current design engineering workflows and potential issues across the product development lifecycle, and can speak the language.\nStrength working with hardware engineering leadership to conceptualize solutions and gain / understand requirements.\nExcellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information in an understandable manner.\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead cross-functional projects.\nAdept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced hardware development environment.\nMust be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience administering or architecting enterprise CAD and PLM platforms (e.g., Teamcenter, NX, Enovia, 3DEXPERIENCE).\nProgramming/scripting experience (Python, C#, VBA, or CAD/PLM-specific APIs) to build custom automations and integrations.\nExperience deploying or scaling engineering tools across multi-site or rapidly growing organizations.\nFamiliarity with Model-Based Definition (MBD), configuration management, and engineering change processes.\nPrior experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other regulated hardware industries.\nExposure to integrations between design engineering tools and downstream MES/ERP systems.\nUS Salary Range\n$146,000—$194,000 USD\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
