The Rocket Motor Systems team is designing and commissioning automated equipment for high rate production of Solid Rocket Motors at our plant in McHenry, MS. In this role, you will lead the Controls Engineering team and own the automation and controls project portfolio for the facility.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nLead, grow, and develop the Controls Engineering team supporting Solid Rocket Motor production in McHenry, MS, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management\nPlan, budget, and track capital and continuous improvement projects for automation and controls at the facility\nPartner with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure controls scope, schedule, and staffing are represented on all facility projects\nOwn and enforce internal standards for control system architecture, documentation, and regulatory compliance across the facility\nOversee functional safety projects including risk assessments, safety system design reviews, and safety buyoffs for production equipment\nProvide visibility to HQ on controls project status, schedule risk, and plant events that impact automation\nDirect root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation downtime, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering\n8+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment\nWorking knowledge of Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text)\nExperience owning scope, budget, and schedule for capital and continuous improvement projects\nExperience with performing Risk Assessments and Controls Safety Design\nExperience integrating with SCADA and OT Networking\nFamiliar with NFPA70e electrical safety practices\nMust be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n12+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment\n2+ years of experience managing engineers, technicians, or integrators\nTUV FS Engineer certification (Functional Safety of Machinery)\nExperience building a controls organization in a new or ramping production facility\nExperience interfacing with regulatory agencies and safety committees\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
