The Radar team is responsible for all aspects of radar system development, from the ideation stage through initial production. In this role, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary technical team to define test strategies, build automated validation infrastructure, perform testing against representative hardware, and mature prototypes into reliable products.\nAbout the Job\nAnduril is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to develop and maintain the test and release infrastructure for our radar software portfolio. This is a hands-on engineering role combining testing against real radar hardware with automated test development, hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop environments, CI/CD, release assurance, and reproducible radar test-data workflows.\nYou will work directly with software and firmware engineers across multiple radar products to reduce manual validation, detect regressions earlier, shorten feedback cycles, and make releases repeatable, traceable, and auditable.\nWhat You'll Do\nDevelop and execute manual and automated test plans, test cases, and test scripts for radar software and firmware, including functional, regression, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop testing\nIdentify, document, and track software and firmware defects; collaborate with developers to reproduce issues, debug root causes, and verify fixes\nSupport the design and build-out of software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure, including test rigs, emulators, and harnesses that validate radar software against representative hardware and simulated environments\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines that run automated test suites and provide fast, actionable feedback across the radar product portfolio\nDevelop tooling for reliable collection, cataloging, retention, retrieval, and replay of radar test data so results are reproducible across programs and field events\nSupport repeatable deployment of firmware and software updates to lab hardware, test benches, and fielded units\nBuild release-assurance workflows that collect test evidence, generate release notes and software bills of materials, version release artifacts, and maintain traceability between source code, builds, test results, and deployed software\nPartner with software, firmware, systems, and configuration-management teams to define release criteria and verify that software meets quality standards before deployment\nContribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies, coding standards, and release practices as the radar software portfolio scales\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience\n3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, software test engineering, or software development infrastructure\nExperience developing automated tests at the unit, integration, or system level\nProficiency in Python for test automation and scripting\nWorking proficiency in C++ sufficient to understand, instrument, and debug production software\nExperience with Git and CI/CD tooling\nExperience with bug-tracking systems such as Jira\nExperience testing and debugging software in Linux environments\nStrong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience building or operating hardware-in-the-loop or software-in-the-loop test infrastructure\nExperience collecting, managing, and replaying large or high-volume test datasets\nExperience with release automation, artifact management, software bill of materials generation, or software configuration management\nExperience with firmware or embedded-software deployment and update pipelines\nFamiliarity with Nix or NixOS for reproducible build and test environments\nExperience with containerization technologies such as Docker\nExperience writing or analyzing code with LLMs such as Claude Code or Codex\nTranscripts\nWe request transcripts as part of the early application process to understand your academic background and how your coursework supports the skills deemed critical for the role.
