By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.\nABOUT THE TEAM\nThe Air Defense team builds robots that find other robots and knock them out of the sky. At a time when air superiority can no longer be taken for granted, the Air Defense team provides mission-critical capabilities to warfighters. From detection to tracking, identification, deterrence, and defeat, our family of networked sensors and effectors enables our customers to rapidly close the kill chain against a broad range of uncrewed aerial system (UAS) threats.\nThe Counter-Intrusion business line works on products that enable operators to protect their people and assets from threats on land and sea. We are deployed in every major global operating theater and support a diversity of mission sets across both U.S. Government and allied partners.\nSentry is the primary product focus of this role and it is fielded across both business lines. The Sentry platform integrates robotics, autonomy, hardware, and software to deliver mission-critical capabilities in defense and security, with a rapidly growing fleet and new variants in development. Product Operations is the team that keeps that fleet healthy once it leaves the factory, working across product, engineering, deployment operations, logistics, and sustainment to turn what happens in the field into actionable improvements.\nABOUT THE JOB\nAs a Product Operations Engineer supporting Air Defense and Counter Intrusion, you will be the architect behind how we observe, maintain, and evolve the deployed Sentry fleet. Where others respond to incidents, you build the systems, queries, and processes that enable prevention. You will develop a deep product understanding, serving as a function SME for all things Sentry. You will work with product engineering partners to design, deploy, and improve a system that supports RCCA cycle execution and delivers actionable product improvement signal, directly impacting the design of next generation hardware and software. You will develop and deploy uptime reporting and observability tooling to measure and facilitate capability availability for customers. You will manage and democratize the Sentry knowledge base for field operations functions and support the proliferation of self service resources.\nYou should bring strong technical depth in robotics engineering, experience leading iterative design across multiple teams, a systems approach to problem solving, and a familiarity with reliability and quality methodologies such as FRACAS. If you are passionate about ground-breaking technology, contributing to the national security mission, and engineering operational excellence from the ground up, Anduril is interested in speaking with you.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nProduct Subject Matter Expertise: Build and hold deep technical understanding of the Sentry system, hardware and software, and serve as the product operations SME for Sentry across both business lines, helping technical and non-technical stakeholders understand each other.\nRCCA Cycle Design and Execution: Partner with product engineering to design, deploy, and continuously improve the system that drives root cause corrective action (RCCA) cycles on fielded Sentry towers, from failure capture through corrective action deployment.\nProduct Improvement Signal: Turn fleet failure data, field feedback, and reliability trends into actionable product improvement signal for engineering, directly informing the design of next generation Sentry hardware and software.\nReliability and Quality Methodology: Apply and mature failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action (FRACAS) practice for Sentry, establishing how failures are classified, tracked, and closed so reliability improvement is measurable rather than anecdotal.\nUptime Reporting and Capability Availability: Develop and deploy uptime reporting that measures and facilitates capability availability for customers, translating raw telemetry into fleet health metrics that program, product, and leadership stakeholders act on.\nObservability Tooling: Proactively build and improve the observability tooling behind that reporting in partnership with hardware and software engineering, so coverage keeps pace with new Sentry variants and new site deployments.\nSentry Knowledge Base: Own, democratize, and continuously improve the Sentry knowledge base for field operations functions, so operational knowledge is codified, accurate, and usable by any level of on call support.\nSelf Service Enablement: Expand the self service resources, runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides that field and deployment teams rely on, so more is resolved at the point of need and the escalations that do arrive are better characterized.\nIterative Design Across Teams: Lead iterative design cycles spanning product operations, engineering, and deployment functions, building agreement on what to change next and carrying it through to implementation.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\n5+ years of experience in product operations, technical support, site reliability, or a comparable technical operations role supporting deployed hardware and software systems, with demonstrated progression in scope and ownership\nBachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or another relevant technical field, or equivalent hands-on technical experience (military, industrial, or field support)\nTechnical depth in robotics, mechatronics, or complex electromechanical systems, including the ability to reason across hardware, software, and networking boundaries\nDemonstrated experience driving root cause corrective action (RCCA) to closure on complex systems, including how failures are captured, classified, and verified as resolved\nExperience leading iterative design or improvement cycles across multiple engineering and operations teams, carrying a change from problem statement through implementation\nProficiency developing monitoring queries, dashboards, and alerting configurations using observability platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, or similar tooling\nExperience validating and verifying software changes on distributed or fielded systems, including rollout, verification, and rollback considerations\nScripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash) with a track record of building tooling that improves operational efficiency, plus fluency with development and issue tracking tooling such as Git and Jira\nDemonstrated ability to author clear, thorough technical documentation including runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides for both technical and non-technical audiences\nAbility to coordinate technical and non-technical efforts across product, engineering, deployment, and sustainment functions, including across more than one program or customer at a time\nProven ability to work independently, identify what needs to be built, and deliver it without close direction\nExcellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills\nEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nPrior military or government agency exposure or experience\nFamiliarity with reliability and quality methodologies such as FRACAS, FMEA, or equivalent structured failure analysis practice\nExperience with Linux system administration and command-line troubleshooting of electromechanical or networked systems\nExperience supporting autonomous sensor systems, counter-UAS systems, and/or complex robotics systems\nExperience building or owning a technical knowledge base, documentation system, or self service support resources\nExposure to Anduril's Lattice OS or similar command-and-control software platforms\nExperience operating in limited risk tolerance production environments with on-call responsibilities\nWillingness to work non-standard hours and weekends when operational needs require\nUS Salary Range\n$101,000—$135,000 USD\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
