As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nEnable extremely accelerated/aggressive battery development timelines by burning down risks at the cell, module, and pack level via development testing\nSupport Battery System Engineers who support battery programs across Anduril with common test procedures/approaches at the cell, module, and pack level\nDesign tools and protocols to enable efficient documentation of test procedures/results without adding significant time or wasted effort\nWrite robust, modular data processing scripts and tools to efficiently provide plots/outputs that are required to enable informed system-level decisions\nBased on BMS/algorithm requirements- design robust and pragmatic test procedures to be executed iteratively at the model-in-loop (MIL), software-in-loop (SIL), and hardware-in-loop (HIL) levels\nSupport validation of battery management system (BMS) algorithms, to include battery state handling, enable/disable switch (ie. contactor or FET) control, cell balancing, state-of-charge (SOC) estimation, state-of-health (SOH), state-of-power (SOP) power limits, fault handling, isolation monitoring, high-voltage interlock loop (HVIL), etc\nCollaborate with Development Test and Battery Systems engineers to characterize battery cell equivalent circuit models and deploy them to battery HILs or simulations\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s Degree in related Engineering discipline, ideally with emphasis in battery development of some kind\n7+ years of professional experience in a related engineering field\nExperience in an immersive interdisciplinary technical project (collegiate project teams or professional settings)\nDemonstrated validation of battery cells and modules/packs against system requirements\nCapability to compress timelines without sacrificing product quality by way of prioritization and brute force\nExperience in hardware automation and software-hardware communication/integration\nDemonstrated proficiency/utilization of Python or Matlab to process large data files into plots, summaries, metrics, etc.\nEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nGraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science with applied focus on battery management systems\nExperience in BMS HW/SW validation methods- including software-in-the-loop (SIL/SITL), model-in-the-loop (MIL/MITL), and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL/HITL) testing\nExperience in cell equivalent circuit model (ECM) development and deployment to battery management systems\nExperience in battery characterization methods: mission profile validation, equivalent-circuit model characterization, cycle/calendar life assessment, safety features, etc.\nDemonstrated experience in battery modelling, controls, and module/pack integration\nUS Salary Range\n$146,000—$194,000 USD\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
