We live in a world where security officers are increasingly overwhelmed by sensor data feeds. Our products leverage advanced sensor fusion and autonomy to seamlessly render activity in the environment to Lattice's common operating picture. This relieves operators of our system from a ton of burden and allows our customers to get more done with fewer personnel. Increasingly Counter Intrusion MSEs are working on projects to bring customers' existing legacy security systems into the Lattice ecosystem. Key to this effort is building scalable software solutions so that we can service many customers without requiring bespoke software for each one. The Counter Intrusion team is responsible for the development, testing, deployment, and sustainment of our family of systems. We work closely with other teams from product, engineering, sales, logistics, operations, and mission success.\nABOUT THE JOB\nWe are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our growing team in Irvine, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for developing tooling and infrastructure to manage Counter Intrusion’s growing fleet of autonomous Sentry towers. Your work will have a direct impact on the reliability and uptime of deployed systems in harsh, remote locations. You'll detect problems early, diagnose them remotely, and turn repeat incidents into automation, runbooks, and fixes in the product. You'll partner with cross functional teams spanning customer support, field operations, software and hardware engineering, and quality and reliability.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nBuild systems to monitor Sentry tower fleet health (dashboards, alerts, telemetry)\nRemotely diagnose issues across the stack: compute, software services, firmware, sensors and cameras, power controllers, and connectivity\nRun root-cause analysis on incidents\nDevelop automations to cut manual toil, e.g. tooling to roll out config and software updates safely across the fleet\nPlan and run staged software, firmware, and configuration rollouts\nReview incident trends, find recurring failure modes and process gaps, and write or maintain runbooks and troubleshooting guides\nGive hardware and software teams feedback on system and subcomponent reliability\nTake part in on-call or escalation rotations for operational events\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\n3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, systems engineering, or a similar role running production infrastructure\nStrong Linux skills: systemd, journald/log analysis, SSH-based remote debugging, and shell scripting\nSolid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP/ARP, firewalls, and troubleshooting connectivity issues\nExperience with observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar)\nProficiency in Python, Rust, or a similar language for automation and tooling\nExperience with incident response, root cause analysis, and writing clear postmortems and runbooks\nComfort working across hardware and software boundaries\nStrong communication and the ability to coordinate with field technicians, engineers, and operations teams under time pressure\nEligible to obtain and hold a U.S. Secret security clearance\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience managing fleets of embedded or edge devices (IoT, robotics, telecom, or defense systems)\nExperience with embedded compute platforms\nFamiliarity with NixOS\nKnowledge of sensor systems (cameras, radar, GPS/GNSS) and of power systems (solar, batteries, generators, power controllers)\nExperience with RF and mesh radios, Starlink, or LTE backhaul\nPrior experience in defense, aerospace, or border and critical infrastructure security\nUS Salary Range\n$147,000—$196,000 USD\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
