Working across product, engineering, sales, logistics, operations, and mission success, the Air Defense team develops, tests, deploys, and sustains our Family of Systems (FoS) in challenging operational environments worldwide.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nArchitect, design, integrate and test communications networks across a variety of platforms and systems with a focus on C2 (Command and Control) Systems\nDesign, configure, simulate and evaluate wireless tactical networking equipment, topologies, systems and datalinks\nArchitect waveforms and systems to connect autonomous and human-operated systems\nLead electrical integration of communications systems along with avionics modules and payloads into UAVs, ground vehicles, weapons systems, and C2 systems\nSupport other functional engineering teams’ development effort with an understanding of wireless networks/communications, system impacts and trades\nRepresent the communications and networking sub-systems in vehicle-level cross-disciplinary trade-off studies that define and optimize the design of various vehicles and systems and the environments in which they operate\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Master’s preferred\n10+ years of experience with communication systems architecture and design for high reliability, resiliency, redundancy and/or fault tolerance, along with the ability to work collaboratively with other teams to define product requirements, develop specifications and conduct system level test\nUnderstanding of RF circuit design; including noise figure analysis, frequency synthesis, modulation, AGC, antenna matching, power amplifier biasing, and filtering\nStrong grasp of RF propagation, link budgets, and digital comms (modulation, FEC, spread spectrum, multiple access)\nHands-on experience integrating and troubleshooting radios on vehicles or platforms\nWorking knowledge of EMI/EMC and system-level integration issues (MIL-STD-461/464)\nProficiency with RF test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope) and test automation\nUnderstanding of hardware evaluation methodologies, including development of test cases/suites, performance monitoring, test automation, and data analysis.\nUnderstanding of RF propagation and link budget design\nUnderstanding of EMI and common system level integration issues\nCompetence with test equipment such as vector network analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, thermal chambers, and current-probes.\nMust be able to travel 25% of the time.\nAble to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nUnderstanding and familiarity with DO-254, DO-178C, DO-160\nUnderstanding and familiarity with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-882\nExperience designing sensitive RF Circuits\nBasic understanding of RF frequency regulations\nExperience with practical network configuration and troubleshooting\nExperience with network modeling and simulation\nKnowledge of integration and implementation of network security and the impact of security on network design\nKnowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.\nProficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis\nExperience withautomation of tests in both development and production environments\nProficient with a variety of vendors of wireless networking equipment\nUS Salary Range\n$191,000—$254,000 USD\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
