In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.\n We are seeking a driven and technically capable Mechanical Engineer to join our high-performing team at our award-winning underground, Aquila. As a walk-on, walk-off longwall mine, we offer the stability of an established operation combined with the opportunity to work on some of the industry's most critical mining equipment and infrastructure.\nReporting to the Maintenance Superintendent EEM, you will take a hands-on approach to engineering, working collaboratively with maintenance and operational teams to improve asset reliability, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure the safe and efficient delivery of production outcomes.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProviding mechanical engineering support across underground mining equipment and fixed plant assets\nDriving equipment reliability and maintenance improvement initiatives\nManaging asset integrity and engineering compliance activities\nInvestigating equipment failures and implementing sustainable solutions\nSupporting longwall, development and outbye maintenance teams\nLeading and contributing to capital and improvement projects\nCollaborating with operational stakeholders to improve equipment performance, availability and safety\nEnsuring compliance with site standards, statutory requirements and engineering best practices\n Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering\nExperience within mining, heavy industry, manufacturing or resource operations\nStrong knowledge of maintenance and reliability principles\nAbility to analyse technical issues and develop practical solutions\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills\nSAP experience is advantageous\nQueensland mining experience will be highly regarded\nExposure to underground coal operations, longwall systems, conveyors, fixed plant or mobile equipment is advantageous\n Full-time permanent position based at Aquila Mine, Middlemount QLD\n5/2 roster\nCompetitive Salary + 12% Super + Annual Bonus\nResidential, FIFO (company funded) & DIDO options\nSubsidised accommodation and company funded camp options provided\nRelocation Assistance provided\nWhat we Offer\nWhen you join Anglo American, you can expect to enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package and a range of flexible work arrangements that support the balance of work, family and individual circumstances.
