The role ensures the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement across the managed fleet and shore-based operations.\nRoles and Responsibilities\nLead the global QHSE function across the managed fleet and shore-based operations.\nEnsure compliance with all applicable international maritime regulations, including ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC, and flag state requirements.\nOversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems and Safety Management Systems.\nDirect global audit programs, inspections, assessments, and fleet assurance reviews.\nLead investigations of incidents, accidents, near misses, and non-conformities, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.\nDrive enterprise-wide risk management initiatives and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.\nMonitor regulatory developments and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and operational excellence.\nDevelop, mentor, and lead QHSE leadership teams globally to foster engagement, accountability, and high performance.\nEstablish key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to measure and improve safety and quality performance across the fleet.\nRepresent the organization with clients, regulatory authorities, classification societies, and industry stakeholders on matters relating to quality, safety, environmental management, and compliance.\nServe as the Company's Designated Person Ashore (DPA), maintaining direct access to executive management and monitoring the safe operation of vessels and implementation of the Safety Management System in accordance with the ISM Code.\nServe as a permanent member of the Company's Crisis Management Team and provide QHSE leadership during marine emergencies, major incidents, casualties, and business continuity events.\nLead and coordinate periodic management reviews of the QHSE management systems, presenting performance trends, significant findings, conclusions, and recommendations for management action.\nMaintain executive governance of the Company's Safety and Quality Management Systems, including policy direction, controlled manual development, approval of amendments, implementation, and continual improvement.\nProvide executive oversight of fleet and office risk assessment and Management of Change processes, ensuring operational, technical, regulatory, and organizational risks are evaluated and appropriately controlled.\nMonitor forthcoming changes to maritime rules, regulations, conventions, and industry requirements; assess their implications and ensure timely implementation across the fleet and shore organization.\nRequirements\nKey Skills and Capabilities\nTechnical skills\nQuality Management Systems (QMS)\nSafety Management Systems (ISM Code)\nMaritime Regulatory Compliance\nFleet Assurance and Governance\nInternal and External Auditing\nOperational Risk Management\nISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 Standards\nProfessional skills\nStrategic Leadership\nStakeholder and Client Relationship Management\nDecision Making and Problem Solving\nChange Management\nCommunication and Influencing Skills\nTeam Development and Mentoring\nContinuous Improvement Mindset\nProfessional Experience and Education\nBachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Safety Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.\nMaster's degree in a relevant field preferred.\nMinimum 15 years of progressive maritime cruise sector industry experience, including senior leadership responsibilities within Quality, Safety, Compliance, or Operational Management.\nExtensive knowledge of international maritime regulations, industry standards, and management systems.\nDemonstrated experience leading global teams and managing complex organizational and operational risks.\nStrong track record in regulatory compliance, audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nProfessional certifications related to quality, safety, auditing, or risk management are advantageous.\nBenefits\nWe aim to provide a dynamic, inclusive, and rewarding work environment where your ideas are valued, your professional growth is nurtured, and you are able contribute to shaping the future of the maritime industry and keeping the world connected.
