In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.\n Anglo American Steelmaking Coal is seeking an experienced CHPP Electrical Coordinator to join the Engineering and Maintenance team at Moranbah North Mine.\nThis is a key leadership role responsible for coordinating electrical maintenance activities across the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant. You will work closely with operations, maintenance, planning, engineering and contractor teams to ensure electrical work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with site requirements.\nThe role would suit an experienced electrical supervisor or coordinator who understands fixed plant maintenance and is ready to take the next step towards becoming a CHPP Electrical Engineering Manager. You will bring proven experience supervising staff, building strong relationships, setting clear expectations and holding people accountable for safety, performance and quality of work. You will also be comfortable balancing day to day breakdown support with planned maintenance and longer term plant reliability.\nAbout the role\nIn this role, you will:\nCoordinate electrical maintenance activities across the CHPP and associated infrastructure\nProvide day to day leadership and technical support to electrical personnel and contractors\nEnsure electrical work is properly planned, risk assessed and completed safely\nSupport breakdown response, fault finding and the return of equipment to service\nWork with planning and operations teams to prioritise maintenance and minimise production impacts\nCoordinate electrical isolations, commissioning activities and plant modifications\nMonitor electrical defects, recurring failures and maintenance performance\nSupport statutory inspections, audits and electrical compliance activities\nMaintain accurate electrical documentation, records and required authorisations\nContribute to continuous improvement, equipment reliability and maintenance strategies\nPromote a strong safety culture and hold work standards under operational pressure\n About You\nTo be successful, you will ideally have:\nA recognised electrical trade qualification and current Queensland electrical licence\nDemonstrated electrical maintenance experience within a CHPP, fixed plant, mining or heavy industrial environment\nPrevious experience coordinating electrical trades, contractors and daily maintenance activities\nStrong knowledge of electrical safety, isolation, commissioning and permit-to-work requirements\nExperience with fault finding breakdown response and planned maintenance\nExposure to PLC controlled plant, instrumentation, variable speed drives, motor control and HV systems\nThe ability to identify recurring failures and contribute to plant reliability improvements\nExperience using maintenance and work-management systems such as SAP\nStrong planning, prioritisation and stakeholder-management skills\nClear communication and the confidence to challenge unsafe work or poor standards\nA practical, visible leadership style and a genuine commitment to safety\n Based at Moranbah North Mine, Moranbah, QLD\nRoster - 9 day fortnight\nFIFO, BIBO, DIDO or Residential\nFree camp and mess\nCompetitive salary + 12% superannuation and annual bonus\nFree / Discounted gym membership\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and their family\nWhat we offer\nWhen you join Anglo American, you can expect to enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package and a range of flexible work arrangements that support the balance of work, family and individual circumstances.
