We are convinced that greatness only happens when we prioritize these behaviors and the well-being of every person.\nLearn more about ourVision, purpose, values - AngloGold Ashanti\n\nPOSITION\n\nDriver\n\nDEPARTMENT\n\nEngineering/Shared Services\n\nLOCATION\n\nObuasi Gold Mine\n\nCLOSING DATE\n\n29th October 2026\n\nOBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE\nThe Driver - Fleet, Engineering is accountable for the performance of company driving functions in compliance with the code of practice for the safe use of company vehicles through the application of operational engineering policies, standards, systems and procedures to maximize productivity in a sustainable cost-effective manner and minimize operational risks to meet the business strategic objective.\nThe role is accountable for all driving-related duties including fleet and journey management, ensuring that all journeys are properly and timely executed in line with company policies.\nROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES\nDrive and operate assigned vehicles to perform official assignments in support of company operations.\nExecute assigned transport tasks for the conveyance of materials and personnel as instructed.\nConduct daily pre-start checks on assigned vehicles and escalate or report any anomalies identified.\nRecognize vehicle operating anomalies that indicate maintenance requirements and report defects and faults for repair.\nMaintain assigned vehicles as appropriate and support vehicle accident investigations where required.\nObserve all driving rules, regulations and safe operating limits for assigned vehicles and stop vehicle operation where a high risk or unsafe condition exists, then report to the Supervisor.\nWork in compliance with Government of Ghana agency requirements, environmental, health and safety legislation, and AGAG regulations.\nAccept personal responsibility for own health and safety and that of every mine worker affected by the work.\nAdhere to the site Environmental Management Plan and comply with environmental management requirements and legal obligations.\nTake action to prevent environmental pollution and report environmental deviations, practices and conditions to the Supervisor.\nFollow established procedures for reporting incidents when they occur.\nInterface with contractors and construction teams as directed regarding the movement of materials and people for authorized works supporting the mine work plan and schedule.\nAttend required training, development and performance improvement programmes.\nExecute work in a timely manner to support project schedules and critical intermediate milestones.\nCarry out work in a cost-effective manner.\nComply with relevant legislation, applicable codes, best practice, industry and AGAG standards, AGAG quality systems, policies, procedures, processes and internal project requirements.\nAttend meetings and communication sessions as required.\nReport directly to the Transport Officer on operational issues and provide timely performance status information as required.\nPerform any other duties assigned by the supervising officer.\nWork according to the company values of Safety, Respect, Integrity, Sustainability, Excellence and Collaboration.\nROLE REQUIREMENTS\nEducation & Qualification\nHigh School Certificate or equivalent.\nMinimum of DVLA License C certification.\nMust pass the AGAG pre-employment health test for drivers.\nExperience\n1-2 years in equipment operation roles.\nKnowledge & Skills\nKnowledge and understanding of DVLA, insurance, road safety and other regulatory requirements.\nKnowledge of vehicle and driver licensing requirements and mining regulations.\nAbility to communicate about technical issues both orally and in writing.\nAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel from technical to management to executive level.\nAbility to re-prioritize planned activities and tasks.\nProblem solving skill.\nConsistent with company values.\nAbility to create an environment of teamwork and willingness to work with co-workers.\nAbility to work with different kinds of people.\nAngloGold Ashanti Limited\nwww.anglogoldashanti.com\nLocal Benefits\nAngloGold Ashanti offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support employees’ health, financial security, and overall well-being. \nMedical insurance, employee assistance programmes, and wellbeing initiatives. \nCompany-supported pension or provident fund contributions. \nAnnual leave, sick leave, and public holidays in line with company policy. \nEqual Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement\nWe are an equal opportunity employer and value inclusion, diversity and equity in our workplace.
