This role develops and refines maintenance strategies and tactics, creates detailed job plans, and works closely with operations and maintenance teams to maximize equipment availability and minimize unscheduled downtime. The Mine Maintenance Planner is integral in supporting the assembly, commissioning, and long-term commercial operations of the mobile equipment fleet.\nAs a key operational contributor reporting directly to the Manager, Mine Maintenance, the Specialist partners closely with Mine Operations, Maintenance Supervisors, Warehouse/Procurement, and Reliability teams to ensure work is prioritized, parts are staged, and maintenance execution aligns with daily production targets.\nKey Responsibilities\nDetailed Job Planning & Maintenance Strategy\nCreate comprehensive job plans including required labor, specialized tools, spare parts, and site safety protocols.\nPlan preventive (PM), predictive (PdM), and corrective maintenance work for the open-pit mobile equipment fleet.\nRecommend continuous improvements to PM strategies, maintenance intervals, component rebuild cycles, and equipment tactics.\nCMMS & Work Order Administration (SAP)\nGenerate, update, and manage the status of work orders in SAP, reviewing notifications for scope, priority, and technical accuracy.\nMaintain maintenance plans, schedules, material catalogs, purchase requisitions (PRs), and equipment history data within SAP PM.\nEnsure full documentation of completed work, parts consumption, and historical maintenance logs for equipment reliability tracking.\nOperational Alignment & Work Prioritization\nCoordinate with Mine Operations and Production Supervisors to align scheduled maintenance windows with mine production targets.\nEnsure planned work is prioritized according to equipment criticality, safety requirements, operational urgency, and resource availability.\nPartner with Maintenance Supervisors to ensure work packages are executed efficiently with minimal impact on daily material movement.\nSupply Chain & Logistics Coordination\nCoordinate with Warehouse, Procurement, and Logistics teams to verify that required parts, kitting, and materials are available prior to scheduling work.\nManage parts staging, track long-lead components, and optimize maintenance inventory requisitions.\nKPI Tracking, Budgeting & Fleet Commissioning\nSupport maintenance forecasting and annual budgeting while tracking planning KPIs such as schedule compliance, PM accuracy, and mean time to repair (MTTR).\nSupport mobile fleet assembly, field commissioning, and ramp-up activities during operational startup phases.\nRequirements\nAssociate degree or technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or heavy equipment technology preferred (or equivalent practical experience).\nCertified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent designation preferred.\nMinimum 5 years of progressive experience in mobile maintenance, maintenance planning, or heavy equipment operations within an open-pit mining environment.\nPractical experience supporting mine startup, mobile fleet assembly, and equipment commissioning in mining, heavy construction, or industrial operations a plus.\nStrong working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), specifically SAP PM module workflows.\nDemonstrated understanding of equipment reliability principles, predictive maintenance technologies, and maintenance planning best practices.\nStrong technical ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematics, and P&IDs.\nDemonstrated ability to prioritize work, delegate tasks, and collaborate across operational and technical departments.\nHigh degree of self-motivation with the ability to work independently within agreed policy boundaries and mentor team members.\nValid driver's license required with the ability to operate company vehicles safely.\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States.\nAngloGold Ashanti Limited\nwww.anglogoldashanti.com\nBENEFITS:\nAngloGold Ashanti North America (AGANA) offers a competitive benefits package to include company paid medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums; flexible spending accounts; 401(k) retirement plan with employer match; vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays.
