This role ensures facilities and infrastructure are safe, compliant, constructible, and optimized for long-term operational performance. Responsibilities span site development, earthworks, drainage, foundations, and structural systems across multiple project phases.\nKey Responsibilities\nCivil & Structural Design\nDesign and oversee site development including grading, drainage systems, access roads, and laydown areas.\nProvide engineering support for waste rock facilities, heap leach pads, tailings storage facilities, and stormwater management systems.\nDesign and review foundations and structural supports for crushers, mills, ADR plants, conveyors, and other heavy process equipment.\nIntegrate safety-in-design principles into all civil and structural solutions.\nProject Support & Execution\nProvide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.\nSupport feasibility-level studies (PEA, PFS, FS) with civil and structural input.\nSupport infrastructure expansions and modifications, including investigation and resolution of civil or structural deficiencies.\nEnsure civil and structural designs are practical, constructible, and aligned with project execution strategy.\nCompliance & Standards\nEnsure compliance with MSHA, Nevada regulatory requirements, and applicable industry standards.\nEnforce adherence to AGA engineering standards, design criteria, and safety requirements.\nMaintain clear and accurate engineering documentation and technical records.\nConsultant & Contractor Coordination\nManage and coordinate EPCM firms, consultants, and contractors to ensure quality, schedule, and design compliance.\nReview external engineering deliverables for technical accuracy and constructability.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.\nSupport effective coordination between internal teams and external partners throughout the project lifecycle.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (required).\n5-7 years of civil and structural engineering experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial environments.\nExperience designing structural steel and reinforced concrete systems.\nExperience supporting EPCM execution, construction, and plant commissioning.\nSite grading, drainage, earthworks, and infrastructure design.\nStructural steel and reinforced concrete design.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and design standards.\nFamiliarity with mine infrastructure, process facilities, and industrial support structures.\nUnderstanding of constructability and construction sequencing.\nStrong safety awareness and commitment to environmental and health standards.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.\nClear technical communication and professional judgment.\nWillingness to mentor others and contribute positively to team culture.\nAwareness of community and cultural considerations in mining project development.\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States.\nValid driver’s license required for site access and travel.\nAngloGold Ashanti Limited\nwww.anglogoldashanti.com\nBENEFITS:\nAngloGold Ashanti North America (AGANA) offers a competitive benefits package to include company paid medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums; flexible spending accounts; 401(k) retirement plan with employer match; vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays.
