This position serves as the primary quality resource for stamping and incoming operations and works closely with Production, Engineering, Tooling, New Product Development, and Quality teams to ensure products meet customer requirements and internal quality standards.\nThe Stamping Quality Engineer will support day-to-day manufacturing operations through problem-solving, quality inspections, process monitoring, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement activities. This role is ideal for an individual looking to grow their career in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.\nEssential Responsibilities\nManufacturing Quality Support\nProvide daily quality support to stamping and incoming QC operations.\nPerform and review dimensional and visual inspections of stamped components.\nSupport first-piece, in-process, and final inspections as required.\nMonitor production quality performance and communicate issues to production leadership.\nAssist operators in understanding quality requirements and inspection methods.\nReview quality concerns and support containment activities when issues arise.\nHelp ensure nonconforming material is properly identified, segregated, and dispositioned.\nParticipate in process validations, trials, and production qualifications.\nProblem Solving & Continuous Improvement\nParticipate in root cause investigations using tools such as:\n5 Why Analysis\nFishbone Diagrams\nCorrective Action Reports\nAssist with corrective and preventive action activities.\nAnalyze scrap, defects, rework, and customer complaint trends.\nWork with Operations to identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.\nSupport continuous improvement projects within the Stamping Department.\nQuality Systems & Documentation\nMaintain inspection records and quality documentation.\nAssist with development and updates to work instructions, inspection procedures, and quality standards.\nSupport internal audits and customer audit preparation activities.\nEnsure compliance with company quality system requirements and customer specifications.\nComplete quality reports and communicate findings to leadership.\nProduction Floor Engagement\nSpend significant time on the manufacturing floor supporting operators and supervisors.\nPerform layered process audits and product audits as assigned.\nReview gaging results and verify measurement techniques.\nSupport training of operators on inspection methods and quality expectations.\nParticipate in daily production meetings and quality reviews.\nRequired Qualifications\nAssociate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, or related field preferred.\nEquivalent manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of education.\n2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, engineering, inspection, or production support roles.\nAbility to read drawings, specifications, and inspection instructions.\nExperience using measuring equipment such as:\nCalipers\nMicrometers\nHeight gauges\nPin gauges\nBasic knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective actions.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.\nStrong communication and organizational skills.\nAbility to lead a cross functional team efficiently\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in metal stamping, manufacturing, packaging, automotive, consumer products, or related industries.\nFamiliarity with:\nISO 9001\nSPC\nControl Plans\nPFMEA\nInspection Plans\nPrevious Quality Inspector, Quality Technician, Process Technician, or Production Lead experience.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nUnderstanding of manufacturing quality concepts and inspection methods.\nAbility to identify defects and ensure adherence to quality standards.\nStrong attention to detail.\nAbility to analyze data and recognize quality trends.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.\nEffective verbal and written communication
