At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.\nJob Purpose/Overview\nThe Parasitology Laboratory Aide is responsible for the collection, processing and preparing of fecal samples.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nCollect fecal specimens from login, scan into loads, and prepare for set up. \nMeet all minimum department requirements for para loads and Fcombo set-up rates. \nAccurately building loads and label processing tubes \nSplit specimens for Giardia ELISA when required \nFind missing specimens. Print and reconcile queue list \nMaintain organization of storage refrigerator \nMaintain all equipment including hoods, centrifuges, etc. \nAwareness of quality control and calibration \nCrosstrain and develop knowledge of multiple specialties within department/lab. \nFollows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures. Maintains clean and organized work area. Restocks supplies as needed \nParticipates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation. \nConsult with senior peers on non-complex Parasitology tasks to learn through experience. \nPerforms other duties as assigned. \nWe share a collaborative obligation to ensure that we conduct ourselves in the utmost ethical manner and that we hold each other accountable to the values and standards of the organization. Antech Diagnostics has several processes in place to communicate with leadership and expects that Associates will have a commitment to integrity and uncompromising values.\nEducation and Experience\nHigh school diploma or equivalent \nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nAttention to detail and organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment \nAbility to work independently and as part of a team \nCommunication skills, both verbal and written \nProficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions \nPositive, can-do attitude \nWorking Conditions\nStationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours. \nConstantly operates lab equipment accurately and efficiently \nOccasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch \nRequired to lift, move, and carry up to 20 lbs. \nThe ability to observe details at close range \nExtended hours may be needed \nLaboratory environments with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE \nReceives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments \nWork under close to moderate supervision \nPotential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
