At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.\nJob Purpose/Overview\nThe Serology Lab Technician is responsible for testing blood and other samples for viral and bacterial disease by detecting antibodies (AB) or antigens (AG). The Serology PCR Technician examines samples for specific substances using molecular diagnostic methods.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nPerform and analyze results for both PCR and non-PCR tests as required. \nReads and releases test results \nTests performed may be more complex \nExercises judgment in evaluating and reporting results \nPerforms equipment maintenance \nFind missing specimens. Print and reconcile queue list \nLibrary all samples \nMaintain all departmental equipment \nFollows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures. Maintains clean and organized work area. Antech Diagnostics has several processes in place to communicate with leadership and expects that Associates will have a commitment to integrity and uncompromising values.\nEducation and Experience\nHigh school or equivalent required, bachelor's degree in science preferred. \nPrior lab experience preferred \nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\n Laboratory skills, with experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating lab instruments. \nGeneral science background \nAttention to detail and organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment \nAbility to work independently and as part of a team \nSolid communication skills- written and verbal \nProficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written direction \nPositive, can-do attitude \nPersonal computer skills, including strong typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office \nWorking Conditions\nStationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours. \nConstantly operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently. \nOccasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch \nRequired to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs. \nThe ability to observe details at close range. \nExtended hours may be needed \nLaboratory environments with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE. \nWorks under close to moderate supervision \nPotential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
