At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.\nJob Purpose/Overview\nThe Chemistry Lab Supervisor supervises day-to-day activities within the laboratory unit/group/area/department. Contributes to the development of operating policies and procedures.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nSupervises the staff including assigning work, monitoring work activities, evaluating results, evaluating performance, and resolving escalated issues\nAdministers employment actions, provides coaching/guidance to staff, supports staff training and development\nProvides input on the creation of new department policies and procedures.\nLeads key work activities of the lab unit/group/area/department including planning and organizing work, providing for adequate staffing, and ensures work for the department stays on schedule so that customer satisfaction is maintained\nContributes to maintenance of department diagnostic equipment and other technical resources. When needed partners with vendors to resolve equipment issues\nMaintain supply of reagents and consumables needed by department\nEnsure that all Quality Assurance/Quality Control standards are met by staff.\nPrepares reports, presentations, and other information summarizing work activities and various analyses as needed to highlight issues and resolve questions\nAssist in development and management of financial budget requirements\nProvide business review information to Lab Manager\nConsult with clients to explain or resolve testing issues and procedures\nMaintains knowledge of changes and developments in the industry affecting work activities. May participate in outside industry groups and forums related to business activities\nReads, understands, and follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures \nMaintains clean and organized work area. Antech Diagnostics has several processes in place to communicate with leadership and expects that Associates will have a commitment to integrity and uncompromising values.\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in science-related field preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nPrior diagnostic lab supervisor experiences including hiring, performance management, motivational and mediating abilities\nAbility to organize, prioritize and direct work activities.\nExperience with the lab operations, testing and services of the area(s) supervised including test set-up, test reading, releasing test results, and troubleshooting equipment.\nReasoning and analytical skills to resolve issues.\nAttention to detail and organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment\nSkilled communicator able to exchange accurate information.\nProficiency in the English Language, which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions.\nPositive, can-do attitude\nPersonal computer skills, including strong typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office\nWorking Conditions\nStationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours.\nOperates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently.\nOccasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch\nRequired to lift, move, and carry up to 20 lbs.\nThe ability to observe details at close range.\nExtended hours may be needed\nLaboratory environment with potential biohazards present\nPotential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
