About the role
The Office of the Chief Commercial Officer is a small team that works directly with our CCO, go-to-market leadership, and company leadership on Anthropic’s highest-priority commercial initiatives. We take on problems that do not sit cleanly inside one team, such as standing up a program that spans Product, Finance, Legal, and Sales, or preparing the material our executives and Board use to make decisions. Our commercial business is growing faster than its operating processes can be built, so a growing share of the job is stepping into gaps and running something important, while making sure other teams are building the capabilities to permanently own.
You will own workstreams end to end. One week that means running the go-to-market side of a pressing situation, from the communications plan for customers and account teams to the daily readout for executives. Another week it means building the analysis behind a resourcing decision or a new program and writing it up for the CCO. This is an internal role. You will report to the CCO’s chief of staff, and you will have an unusually broad view of how the company makes decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive priority go-to-market initiatives from plan to delivery, removing blockers, escalating early, and connecting the right people across teams at the right time
Build the analysis, draft the document or deck, and turn input from many teams into a recommendation executives can act on
Prepare content for the CCO and leadership team, including weekly staff meetings, updates to the Office of the CEO, Board materials, and leadership offsites
Track the go-to-market organization’s top priorities and keep a current view of status, owners, and risks
Act as a bridge between go-to-market and Product, Finance, Legal, Safeguards, and Research, so that what account teams hear from customers reaches product decisions and those decisions reach account teams in a usable form
Step in where something important has no clear owner, run it until it has a permanent home, and hand it over cleanly
Close out same-day executive requests quickly and to a high standard
You may be a good fit if you:
Have 4+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy and operations, a chief of staff team, or a similarly rigorous environment working with senior executives
Structure ambiguous problems well and get to a clear recommendation
Can get to a number yourself in a spreadsheet, in SQL, or with Claude, check it against a second source, and explain where it came from
Write and speak clearly and briefly for executive audiences
Are as willing to maintain the tracker and chase the last open items as to write the strategy
Are comfortable with significant autonomy and with priorities that shift on short notice, pay close attention to detail, and know when to escalate
Build trust quickly with senior people across the company who are short on time
Use AI tools as a core part of how you work
Care about Anthropic’s mission and about getting safe, useful AI to customers
Strong candidates may also have
Experience in technology, SaaS, or enterprise software, or exposure to go-to-market strategy, sales operations, or customer success
Experience running a product launch, a program office, or another cross-functional effort with many owners and a fixed date
Familiarity with how large enterprises buy and adopt technology, including security, legal, and procurement review
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$190,000—$270,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
