The Product Specialist serves as the technical and product expert for an assigned portfolio of Anton Paar instruments, supporting customers and the Sales team through technical consultation, product demonstrations, application support and training.

The role works closely with Sales, Service, Marketing and Global Product Management to understand customer requirements, recommend fit-for-purpose solutions and support the growth of the assigned product portfolio.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Sales & Pre-Sales Support

• Provide technical and application support to the Sales team and customers during the pre-sales process.
• Conduct product demonstrations, feasibility studies, sample analyses and technical presentations.
• Support technical proposals and customer discussions and work with Sales teams to identify and develop business opportunities.
• Support and track the sales funnel for assigned product lines.

Product & Customer Support

• Deliver product, installation and application training to customers and internal teams.
• Provide technical support for method development, troubleshooting and instrument optimization.
• Collaborate with the Service team to resolve complex technical issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Gather customer feedback and application requirements to support continuous improvement.

Market & Product Development

• Support marketing campaigns, seminars, exhibitions and other product-promotion activities.
• Monitor competitor offerings, market trends and technological developments relevant to the assigned product portfolio.
• Develop application notes, case studies and other technical content to strengthen product positioning.
• Support new product launches, including demonstration readiness, internal training and customer engagement.

• Ability to conduct effective product demonstrations and explain complex technical concepts in a clear and practical manner.

• Self-driven, organized and able to manage multiple customer and product-related priorities.
• Willingness to travel extensively based on business requirements.

Education & Experience

• Ph.D., Master's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or a related scientific/technical discipline.
• 4-8 years of relevant experience in scientific instrumentation, analytical measurements, technical sales or application support.
• Hands-on experience with analytical instruments, with a good understanding of measurement principles, data analysis and scientific methodologies.
• Experience in customer-facing technical roles, product demonstrations, application development or customer training would be preferred.
• Experience within the scientific instrumentation, laboratory equipment or analytical instrumentation industry would be an advantage.
