You'll be expected (and encouraged) to wield it daily.\nThe role\nBe the technical owner of our proxy platform: a 100% asyncRust codebase (~50k lines, multi-repo) doing tens of millions of requests/day.\nThe core is a hard distributed-systems problem - we coordinate a churning fleet ofdevices running our serveras proxy and route live customer traffic through them over custom TLS + custom protocols. Your job: keep that fleet fast, reliable, and byte-accurately billed.\nThis is a hands-on leadrole. You'll mostly design, code, review, and debug production systems - not manage a large team.\nWhat you'll own\n Peer-fleet coordination & reliability- lifecycle, keep-alive, health checks, circuit breakers, zombie-peer detection, QoS-aware archiving\n Core protocol work- proxy, SOCKS5, UDP, QUIC, and load balancing under real traffic\n Usage-metering correctness- every byte billed once across HTTP/CONNECT/SOCKS5 TCP+UDP and client aborts, verified by E2E tests\n Security & abuse prevention- domain/SSRF/rate-limit policy, anti-DDoS, per-datagram checks on UDP (incl.
