Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.\nRole Type: Permanent\nRole Location: Melbourne or Brisbane\nWork Hours: Full-Time\nWhat will your day look like?\nAs a Lead Engineer, you will:\nAct as a senior subject matter expert for application security across ANZ.\nLead application security reviews, threat modelling exercises, and secure design assessments for critical initiatives.\nDefine and maintain secure coding standards, security patterns, and engineering guidance.\nDrive adoption of Secure by Design principles across engineering teams.\nPerform advanced secure code reviews and application security assessments.\nLead security automation initiatives and integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines.\nEstablish enterprise approaches for SAST, SCA, secrets management, and application security tooling.\nPartner with engineering teams to strengthen security outcomes and enable secure software delivery.\nCoach and mentor Application Security Engineers, supporting capability development and knowledge sharing.\nDrive continuous improvement and innovation, including the adoption of AI-powered application security technologies. \nWhat will you bring?\nTo be successful in this role, you will bring:\nDeep expertise in application security principles, practices, and secure software development.\nSignificant experience conducting complex secure code reviews and application security assessments.\nStrong knowledge of common software vulnerabilities, exploit techniques, and remediation strategies.\nExpertise across frameworks and standards such as OWASP Top 10, ASVS, SAMM, and NIST SSDF.\nStrong understanding of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD security.\nExperience securing cloud-native applications, APIs, and modern software architectures.\nAdvanced scripting and automation skills.\nProven ability to influence technical decisions and drive security outcomes across multiple teams.\nExperience leveraging AI-assisted code review and vulnerability detection tools to improve software security.\nExcellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring capabilities.\nHighly regarded:\nContainer and Kubernetes security experience.\nInfrastructure as Code (IaC) security expertise.\nSecurity architecture experience.\nThreat intelligence or offensive security knowledge.\nExperience securing AI-enabled applications.\nIndustry certifications such as CSSLP, CISSP, GWAPT, OSWE, GWEB, or equivalent\nSo why join us?\nFrom the moment you join ANZ, you'll be doing meaningful work that will shape a world where people and communities thrive.\nBut it's not just our customers who'll feel your impact.
