The successful candidate will primarily support the Corporate Banking or Property and Health relationship banking business but will be expected to support other business areas as needed. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.\nRole Type: 2x Permanent roles available\nRole Location: Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne\nWork Hours: Full time\nWhat will your day look like?\nDrafting documents - drafting, amending and negotiating facility documents\nAdvising on documents - advising on ANZ's rights and obligations under documents including Letter of Offer documentation, facility agreements, securities and guarantees\nProviding legal advice - providing high quality, strategic, commercially relevant and timely advice on legal and regulatory issues and risks arising in connection with transactions and business operations and providing advice on mitigants\nLiaising with external counsel - instructing external counsel or assisting the business to instruct external counsel with a view to ensuring delivery of cost-effective and high quality legal services\nStrategic objectives - participating in and driving internal projects and assisting the business to achieve their strategic objectives\nTraining and education - facilitating training for the business and keeping the business apprised of significant legal developments impacting them\nConsultation - working with stakeholders (including credit, risk, compliance, and enablement teams) to ensure consistent and effective risk management\nTeam focus - providing guidance and support to other team members\nWhat will you bring?\nTo grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:\nMust hold a current Australian legal practicing certificate\nLawyer with extensive post qualification legal experience from either:a top tier Australian law firm (or equivalent foreign law firm) with experience in banking and finance law; and/or\nan authorised deposit-taking institution or listed financial institution\n\nDemonstrated experience in the provision of commercially relevant legal advice and proactive influence of outcomes\nStrong transactional banking and finance skills\nStrong interpersonal skills with the confidence to liaise effectively with individuals at all levels including senior management\nStrong team ethic and growth mindset\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nDemonstrated capacity to work under pressure and in a changing environment in an accurate, calm and timely manner with the ability to reprioritise work to meet changing demands\nYou’re not expected to have 100% of these skills.
