Partnering with colleagues across the business you’ll need to understand challenges, manage legal risk and help deliver effective outcomes. Being comfortable working in an environment where the law is not black and white and there are ambiguities in interpreting that law, is a key requirement for this role.\nYour key responsibilities will include:\nProviding high-quality, commercially focused legal advice and supporting a strong risk-aware culture across ANZ .\nBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues across ANZ Pacific, including Product and Risk and contributing to effective collaboration and outcomes.\nSupporting the delivery of business outcomes through pragmatic, timely and cost-effective legal advice.\nWorking with internal and external legal resources to ensure legal support is delivered effectively and efficiently.\nŌu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?\nTo grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:\nA law degree (LLB) and a current New Zealand Law Society Practising Certificate.\nAt least five years’ post qualification experience from a top tier New Zealand or global firm in a common law jurisdiction, ideally with a focus on banking and finance or commercial law.\nStrong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.\nProven ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice at pace and influence outcomes effectively.\nA curious and pragmatic problem-solving mindset, with the ability to make sound judgements.\nStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.\nYou’re not expected to have 100% of these skills.
