Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.\nRole Type: Permanent\nRole Location: Melbourne or Brisbane\nWork Hours: Full-Time\nWhat will your day look like?\nAs a Senior Manager, AI Platform Capability & ML Build, you will:\nLead a forward-deployed engineering capability that partners with business and technology teams to convert high-value opportunities into scalable AI platform solutions.\nDesign, build and operate AI platform services including model gateways, agent runtimes, orchestration services, evaluation frameworks and observability capabilities.\nShape enterprise-wide agentic AI frameworks spanning DevOps, platform engineering, APIs, data integration and AI Control Plane connectivity.\nEstablish intelligent routing and governance patterns that balance performance, cost, safety and business outcomes.\nDrive secure-by-design engineering practices, ensuring AI solutions meet ANZ's security, risk and governance standards.\nBuild developer-focused tooling, SDKs, reference architectures and reusable assets that enable rapid and safe AI adoption.\nLead multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, inclusion and continuous learning.\nInfluence senior stakeholders and guide enterprise-level decisions relating to AI platform architecture, standards and future strategy.\nWhat will you bring?\nTo grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:\nSignificant experience leading platform engineering, AI engineering, MLOps, LLMOps, DevSecOps or cloud-native engineering capabilities within large and complex organisations.\nDeep technical expertise across distributed systems, backend services, APIs, infrastructure-as-code, containerisation, CI/CD pipelines, observability and Site Reliability Engineering practices.\nStrong practical experience with Generative AI and agentic AI architectures, including orchestration, retrieval, workflow automation and production monitoring.\nDemonstrated success translating business problems into scalable engineering solutions and delivery roadmaps.\nProven experience leading and developing high-performing multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nExcellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders across business, technology and risk functions.\nHighly regarded:\nExperience within banking, financial services or another highly regulated industry.\nKnowledge of responsible AI, model governance, guardrails, evaluation frameworks and AI safety practices.\nExperience building developer platforms, reusable engineering assets, SDKs, standards or AI capability catalogues.\nContributions to AI engineering communities, thought leadership, research or open-source initiatives.\nSo why join us?\nFrom the moment you join ANZ, you'll be doing meaningful work that will shape a world where people and communities thrive.\nBut it's not just our customers who'll feel your impact.
