Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.\nRole Type: Permanent\nRole Location: Level 9, 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008\nWork Hours: Full-Time\nWhat will your day look like?\nAs a Senior Manager Media Relations, you are accountable for:\nDay-to-management of ANZ’s media unit.\nManagement of a proactive media engagement strategy to support ANZ’s corporate and financial communications, and strategic priorities.\nMaintain ANZ’s relationships with key business reporters and commentators while also acting as one of ANZ’s key spokespeople.\nWork with senior executive stakeholders and colleagues to collaboratively deliver on the Group’s media relations strategy, including management of complex media issues.\nSenior role in the management of key financial announcements, including results and the annual general meeting.\nSenior role in managing communications responses to incidents and crisis.\nWhat will you bring?\nTo grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:\nDemonstrated experience in senior media relations role in large listed company, highly regulated sector, government department, or similar.\nA strong understanding of the Australian media landscape, including print, online, radio, television and other media.\nA demonstrated track record of building impactful relationships with Australian business and financial reporters and commentators.\nStrategic thinking: outcomes focused, displays business acumen, strong problem solving capability, creative in finding solutions.\nBroaden perspective: maintains situational awareness, looks ahead for obstacles and opportunities, and curious about new information and diverse perspectives. Continually develops understanding of ANZ’s business and the financial services industry.\nExercise sound judgement: makes sound and timely decisions in an ambiguous environment, calm under pressure.\nIssues and crisis communications: demonstrated experience managing and leading communications responses to issues, incidents and crises.\nWriting: strong writer and editor in multiple styles and for a broad range of external channels, including experience in speech writing.\nNatural team player: collaborates to deliver results and has a demonstrated ability to develop relationships at all levels and across geographies. \nBroadens perspective: curious about new information, new ideas and diverse perspectives. Continually develops understanding of ANZ’s business and financial services industry.\nRelevant years of experience in the same and similar fields, e.g., media relations, PR, journalism and/or media.\nExceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.\nUnderstanding of Australia’s financial services regulatory environment and continuous disclosure regime.\nUnderstanding of Australia’s political and economic landscape.\nYou’re not expected to have 100% of these skills.
