Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.\nRole Type: Permanent\nRole Location: Melbourne or Brisbane\nWork Hours: Full-Time\nWhat will your day look like?\nAs a Senior Front-End Web Engineer, you will:\nCraft, build and deliver high-quality web experiences that delight customers and create meaningful outcomes.\nDevelop modern, accessible and performant user interfaces using React, Next.js and TypeScript.\nDrive technical excellence through modern engineering practices, automated testing, observability and continuous delivery.\nLeverage AI-assisted and agentic engineering approaches to improve delivery effectiveness and engineer productivity.\nContribute to the evolution of ANZ's web platform, front-end architecture and engineering standards.\nMentor and coach engineers, helping grow technical capability across the team.\nCollaborate across marketing, design, security, architecture, platform and backend engineering teams to deliver shared outcomes.\nFacilitate technical discussions and help navigate complex engineering decisions.\nTake ownership of initiatives from concept through to production support while helping ensure the reliability, availability and security of customer-facing services.\nWhat will you bring?\nTo be successful in this role, you will bring:\nExtensive experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on front-end web development.\nStrong commercial experience with React, JavaScript and TypeScript.\nExperience building and supporting applications using Next.js.\nDeep knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design and modern browser technologies.\nExperience working with API-driven architectures, including REST and/or gRPC services.\nKnowledge of automated testing practices, CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery methodologies.\nExperience working within cloud environments such as AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.\nStrong understanding of performance, scalability, security and observability principles.\nProven ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction.\nA strong customer focus and understanding of accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 AA or higher.\nExperience working in Agile environments with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nThe ability to work collaboratively across teams while balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.\nSo why join us?\nFrom the moment you join ANZ, you'll be doing meaningful work that will shape a world where people and communities thrive.\nBut it's not just our customers who'll feel your impact.
