Working across business, technology, and security teams, you will provide identity architecture direction and contribute to initiatives that will have a lasting impact across the organisation.\nWhile this is first and foremost an identity role, you’ll also bring a security mindset, understanding how identity solutions can be attacked and making sure the controls we design are robust, proportionate, and aligned with our wider security architecture.\nRole Location: This role can be based in Wellington or Auckland. Let us know what works for you.\nRole Type: Permanent\nHours: 37.5 hours per week\nKa aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like\nIn this role, you will:\nShape the future direction of ANZ’s Identity Architecture, ensuring customer and workforce identity solutions support both immediate needs and long-term strategic goals.\nDevelop identity solution designs, authentication and authorisation flows, and options analyses that balance customer experience, assurance, value, and delivery considerations.\nBuild alignment across business, technology, and security stakeholders, guiding identity architecture decisions through governance and endorsement processes.\nChampion modern identity standards and reusable patterns that improve consistency, assurance, and delivery quality, with a secure-by-design focus throughout.\nApply a security lens to identity designs, assessing threats such as account takeover, credential compromise, and token misuse, and partnering with security colleagues to ensure controls are proportionate to risk.\nInfluence identity roadmaps and investment decisions by identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise, and transition legacy identity platforms.\nSupport the design and development of a customer mandates and entitlements capability, defining how customers delegate authority and what each party is permitted to do across our channels.\nŌu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?\nYou will ideally bring deep identity architecture expertise, complemented by solid security knowledge, platform and migration experience, and stakeholder influence, along with:\nExperience designing identity and access solutions within complex enterprise technology environments.\nStrong understanding of modern identity standards and protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and FIDO2/passkeys, and an interest in how they are evolving to support agentic AI.\nExperience with customer and workforce identity platforms, including authentication journeys, federation, and identity lifecycle management.\nA solid grounding in security principles and practices, including threat modelling, secure design, and risk management frameworks, and how they apply to identity and access.\nFamiliarity with adjacent security domains, such as privileged access management, cryptography and key management, or fraud and account takeover controls, is a plus.\nConfidence in building relationships and influencing stakeholders across business, technology, and security teams.\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex identity concepts and trade-offs in a clear and practical way.\nA collaborative approach and genuine enjoyment of working with others to solve complex challenges. \nBackground in customer mandates, entitlements, or delegated authority models, such as business banking signatory or authorised user arrangements, is a plus.\nHe aha te take e uru ai koe ki a mātou? - So, why join us?\nFrom the moment you join ANZ, you'll be part of a work whānau striving towards a common purpose: shaping a world where communities thrive.\nBut it's not just our customers who'll feel your impact.
