We’re doing it with our customers and communities as Australia’s energy infrastructure partner, a role our unique experience and expertise positions us to play.\nReporting to the Quality Manager, we have a great opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our Project Delivery team and play an important role in delivering high quality project outcomes.\nYou’ll work closely with project teams and vendors to provide quality assurance and oversight, strengthen quality governance and drive continuous improvement. At the heart of the role is making sure our assets are delivered to specification, with a strong focus on getting things right the first time.\nThis role can be based in Brisbane or Sydney.\nKey Responsibilities\nPartner with project teams to develop and implement Project Quality Plans, ensuring quality risks are identified and managed throughout delivery.\nLead vendor quality activities across materials and equipment packages, including technical bid evaluations, quality document reviews, inspections and FATs.\nCoordinate suppliers, engineers, procurement teams and third-party inspectors to ensure quality requirements are understood and effectively delivered.\nManage non-conformances, technical queries and corrective actions through to timely close-out, escalating significant risks where required.\nReview and approve vendor quality documentation, inspection records and MDRs to support compliant project handover.\nUse quality insights, trends and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement and reduce repeat issues across projects.\nYour background\nA tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.\nVendor and/or Project Quality experience within infrastructure, energy, utilities or other asset-intensive industries.\nStrong knowledge of project quality assurance, quality management systems, vendor quality and compliance requirements.\nHands-on experience reviewing ITPs, quality documentation, inspection records and MDRs, and supporting supplier inspections and FATs.\nProven ability to manage quality risks, non-conformances and corrective actions while balancing compliance and project outcomes.\nStrong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective relationships across project, engineering, procurement and supplier teams.\nA proactive, practical approach to problem-solving, continuous improvement and delivering quality outcomes.\nFamiliarity with quality management systems, ISO 9001 principles and quality assurance processes within project environments would be advantageous.\nWorking at APA\nAt APA, we’re committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.\nWe offer targeted career development programs designed to accelerate your career, competitive remuneration, employee benefits, flexible working arrangements, and wellbeing initiatives are all part of what we’ll offer you.
